Was not really sure about this resort , there were alot of reviews that werent that great . I must say that this resort is outstanding ! The staff was awesome and the rooms were spectacular , the food was the best we have ever had at a all inclusive . The beach was smaller but it was still really nice ! All in all we will definetly be back !

Nous avons passé 2 semaines fantastiques au El cid en juillet 2011 avec nos enfants de 9 et 14 ans. Nous avions réservé une «Family room» comprenant deux lits doubles et un lit queen (murphy bed)! Le site, bien que petit, offre tout le confort et les services nécessaires. La piscine, avec son récif de 10 pieds, fait le bonheur des petits et des grands. Le site est très sécuritaire pour les enfants et le personnel est courtois, toujours près à répondre à nos besoins. Les jardins offrent une flore et une faune diversifiée. La plage, bien qu'un peu rocailleuse, est très bien entretenue. Bien que l'hotel soit un peu éloigné des grands centres, il est très bien desservi par le Collectivo et les taxis. Il y a aussi un terminus Ado à Puerto Morelos d'où nous pouvons prendre l'autobus vers Playa del Carmen et Tulum (entre autres) pour quelques pesos. Parmi les incontournables avec les enfants : le snorkeling à Puerto Morelos, Xel Ha, Crococun et Hidden Worlds. Oubliez ce site si vous désirez prendre des vacances sans enfant... au El cid, les enfants sont partout!!! Mais si vous êtes de ceux qui, comme nous, désirent vivre des vacances mémorables en famille à un prix abordable, c'est l'endroit qu'il vous faut!

overall for the value it is a nice place to stay. We traveled with our 4 & 6 year old children and my in-laws so there was 6 of us total. My husband and I paid for the platinum club which allowed us to make reservations and guarantee seating in the specialty restaurants which was nice. As far as the "butler service" that was a joke. When I think butler I think someone at your room or a phone call away which was not the case. The butler is in the lobby at the platinum club office which is not convenient. The specialty food was good, breakfast was good, but lunch as always a challenge for me to find something to eat as it was not very good and primarily buffet. I would not travel to marina el CID if I did not have children it is a family hotel. The pool is awesome and the kids love it. The beach is small and the water does have rocks under the surface once you are past knee deep in the ocean. The workers work very hard to keep the seaweed off the beach which is a hard thing to do. The surrounding area of the beach past the hotel is dirty and the beaches are not kept clean. We did not stay on the beach or in the ocean we spent our entire vacation in the pool which was great.
