Mint offers a great place to stay close to the centre of Melbourne, only a short tram ride away from Flinders Street or St Kilda, and close to major roads.

My partner stays here often on business and loves it - finds it very convenient, comfortable and always asks me to re-book. Nice having a balcony too.

We were able to book in earlier than expected and found the staff to be most helpful. Position was excellent for what we required and it was an enjoyable experience.

Greeted by hotel staff with an offer for free upgrade as soon as we arrived at the hotel. Great location, walking distance to Chapel Street and Albert Park. Nice surroundings and very convenient as tram stop is right infront of the hotel. Though it is situated on a main road, noise was not an issue at all. Hotel room has modern decor, though not of 5 stars standard, the room was very decent and included standard amenities. Would definitely recommend this hotel and the area to travellers who do not want to stay in the crowded areas of the city and would enjoy parks and the harbour. There are also many nice cafes, restaurants and bars around the area too!

As a regular business traveller to Melbourne I have been eyeing this hotel for a while and finally decided to give it a go. Suffice to say I think I've found my new favourite stop-off. For $130 the Mint offered an incredibly well furnished and roomy Studio Apartment with all mod cons, decorated in funky tones with a sparkling new bathroom and kitchenette. It's simple but it's classy. Some reviewers have picked up on the stark concrete ceilings but read the in-house literature and it all makes sense. I actually think it's kinda cool and certainly doesn't impact your time in the room. Location is excellent and you're not far from a few places to eat, and a convenience store. Room service comes via an external company - Gourmet2Go - and they offer a wide selection of food and beverages that are surprisingly reasonably priced and tasty. The one drawback of my visit was that the room had a lingering smell of smoke. Whilst the rooms benefit from having a small private balcony, the upshot of this perk is smoke wafting between apartments. Not a biggie but worth noting. I hope this relatively new outfit will maintain it's new look and feel for some time. I certainly look forward to visiting again on my next trip and will be recommending to colleagues, family and friends.
