Mandarin Oriental Washington DC Guest Reviews
Service was perfect except soup( Kai Gai ) was not hot enough. Clam Chowder soup was hot though.

The Mandarin was a lovely hotel, the only matter which was disappointing was the location. The garden at the back was lovely but unfortunately bordered by a very busy road (and rail track) which meant it was not an area to relax in. Also the tables were not provided with umbrellas to shade from the sun which meant out of bounds during the hot midday sun onwards. The location was also disappointing in the sense that to reach the hotel by foot you had to go under a bridge (whichever way you approached) which was inhabited by homeless persons - not terribly comfortable with that! The staff were very nice and attentive but overall I would say nice hotel but location not so nice.

Nicely furnised rooms. Location may be ideal if you like the quieter side of DC and being nearer the Mall. SOme may hate it if you like shopping and restaurants just outside your hotel, We found it very pleasant and quiet. Good service but could have done with a few more amenities to make it truly 5 star...like bedroom slippers, toothbrushes, combs, shaver...Food quality was good at breakfast and at lunch. Would come again.

The Manarin Oriental Hotel in Washington DC, is a very beautiful 5 star diamond hotel. I had an Executive Suite with an ocean view for three days it was very nice. Excellent room service they turn your bed down for you every evening. The food and the atmossphere was simply divine. I had a lovely eat-in breakfast on my last day before checking out. The food was marvelous and the deco was breath-taking. I had full use of the "Spa" swimming, sauna, equipment, stream-room, and showers. I did pay extra for a clay head and body wrap. I can't wait go back in 2009 for my birthday.

Absolutely perfect. Highly recommended. My best experience in a hotel outside my country.
