When To Go
Located on the Malay Peninsula, Terengganu is a destination that is perfect for year-round travel. Precipitation is a constant, but rainfall is not heavy until November through to the middle of February. From the months of October through April, rain is pretty constant across Malaysia. During this time, many resorts and boat services often close or stop completely due to the inclement weather.

Getting There
By air, visitors to Terengganu fly into the Sultan Mahmud Airport. There are several flights a day to and from Terengganu and Kuala Lumpur. Low fares with convenient service make Terengganu an easily accessible destination for foreigners.
Traveling by bus is relatively simple, as there is a long distance bus station in Terengganu. Buses travel to Terengganu from all major Malaysian cities, such as Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Kota Bharu, and many others. Travel times range anywhere from three to 10 hours depending on the destination. There is also a local bus station that operates to most places in town.
By ferry, visitors should know that there is an in-season, which runs from March through October. There are two daily ferry services from Shahbandar Jetty that go directly to Redang. The trip takes a little over an hour. Generally these ferries are intended primarily for Berjaya Redang Resort guests, but they will accept non-guests for a fee and if there is space. However, most travelers to Redang will take the ferry from the jetty at Merang.
