Kota Tinggiis a town in Johor, Malaysia that is famous for its mangroves, which are beautifully lit by fireflies in the evenings. Many people take the cruise from the Kota Tinggi jetty just to see this area after dusk. The giant Lombong Waterfall, which springs from the Gunung Muntahak’s base, is actually this area’s main natural attraction. There are several refreshing pools where visitors may swim along the basin of this 36-metre (118-feet) fall. Most of the town’s tourism is oriented towards local history, however. Kota Tinggi is where theSultanate of Johor originated, and so it is home to a number of royal tombs. For those who enjoy the sun and surf, there is the nearby Desaru resort area with lovely pristine beaches and warm waters. The most notable beaches are Tanjung Balau and Batu Layar, located an hour away. You can also head over to the Sebana Cove Golf & Marina Resort if you need a break from the tropical temperatures and humidity. If you want to enjoy some delectable seafood without paying tourist prices, you should visit the fishing town of Teluk Sengat, just 25 km (16 miles) from Kota Tinggi.
