Makati Shangri-La Hotel Manila Guest Reviews
Excellent hotel and service as all the Shangri-La Hotels.. The hotel personnel respectful and effective, well dressed and prompted to serve and host. The facility and amenities wonderful as usual. Regarding HotelClub's service, good. Just one observation which will make think twice before using your service; due to the fact that I reserved and paid through you I was not able to collect a single point in my GOLDEN CIRCLE CARD. The hotel should be able to, at least, share 50% of the points between HotelClub and the customers. Think about, because I will prefer to pay more and collect points than save few dollars and not be able to collect points.

Excellent hotel. Highly recommend the buffet on the ground floor (Circles restaurant), the food is excellent quality and there is a lot of it. For breakfast get there before 9 am otherwise you have to line up and wait for a table. The pool on the 4th floor is 20 m - just big enough to do laps and not get dizzy! There is also a well equipped gym. The hotel is across the road from shopping at Glorietta, Rustans, Shoe Mart and the Greenbelt (luxury shops e.g. Louis Vuitton, YSL, Bally, etc...). Plenty of places to eat in the shopping malls.

This is my second stay at this hotel... I''ve stayed at all three Shangri-la hotels in the Philippines (as well as the Shangri-la in Bangkok). As always, the service, room decor, ammenities etc. was excellent. My only minor complaint is that I wasn''t familiar with how to make tea at the Horizon Lounge using their perforated silver "spoons". Since it lacked instructions on the proper use of the device... I would have liked it if the Hotel had made pots of the different varieties of tea in advance so that their guests need only pour the drink into their own cups.

I stayed there twice over 2 consecutive weekends and I would go back again if I found myself in Manila on business. Fantastic hotel. I found the hotel facilities to be great. The rooms have been recently redone - lush marble bathrooms, modern furniture, great desk. The gym facilities were one of the best I''ve seen in Asian hotels, and the trainers were extremely friendly. I didn''t sample the restaurants, but the French one (Petit Cheval?) is one of the best according to my friend who is a franchophile.

I don''t think the hotel does a good enough job emphasizing its services. For example it is possible to hire a hotel car to take you to the airport (~US$20), but they don''t tell you it would be better to reserve a time. We had no problems using the hotel car, but I imagine it could have been frustrating on a weekday.
