Majestic Elegance Punta Cana All Inclusive

My wife and I made a last minute decision to getaway this year for our anniversary. In trying to select a location and resort we researched many destinations and reviews. Our research lead us to choose Punta Cana and the Majestic Elegance hotel. We were not disapointed all the reviews and ratings were spot on. The hotel and resort grounds were breath taking and the staff was outstanding. I would highly recommend staying here and if you never tried surfing try taking a lesson at Macao beach my wife and I did and had the time of our lives.

The Majestic Elegance is a great hotel for couples especially if you stay in the Club section. There is a quiet private pool area and private beach as well. The suites are very spacious and well appointed. The food overall is good and the staff aims to please. The beach is beautiful with plenty of chairs available at all times.

We were totally impressed with everything about the hotel, except the food which was generous and well presented, but not as flavorful as a good shef could make it. Otherwise the beauty, the beach, the luxurious room blew us away. Great surpise and fantastic time and value.

The hotel is nice, well layed out, and has a very nice beach, HOWEVER....the service was horrible, and the food even worse. I was there during the Christmas holiday, and the hotel was busy, but no excuse for unedible food, and rude service every which way we turned. Your better off saving a few more bucks and staying somewhere else. Trust, my on this, the only people that seemed to be enjoying it were people that left their trailer parks for their first vacation in many years. Stay away!

This was our 7th time in the DR and first time at the Majestic Elegance Club. We previously stayed at the Bahia Principe and Royal Suites (adults only). First the negatives: 1. The room was musty. This is probably due to the air conditioning setup. The resort employed motion detectors in the room. If there was no motion, the AC and most electricity shut off. This allowed for the humidity to regularly increase. I vividly remember walking on the room floors and it sounded like my shoes were wet. I'm not sure how to solve the problem other than to get rid of the sensors and maybe get ceiling fans to circulate the air. We brought a Glade Plug-In and that solved the musty smell problem. 2. The entrance to the resort and athletic fields. We did not use them (tennis, basketball, . . . .), but they looked terrible. The grounds were not kept up and the view from the fields was of the employee building and maintenance area. It was not very "Majestic" looking. This was a very minor point for me. 3. Too many beach chairs. It was difficult to navigate around the chairs. 4. Pepsi . . . .enough said. Positives: 1. Hotel management. We had a late arrival and we emailed the management. They responded within 12 hours confirming our reservation. I tried emailing the Royal Suites and never got a reply. I was very impressed with the management. 2. Private Club Check-in: Smoothest check-in we've experienced. The personal tour of the property was nice. 3. Elegance Club Lounge: I was not expecting how nice this was. There were at least 3-4 "Club" buildings. Each building had its own lounge with internet access, a butler (who was always on site), snacks, drinks, lounge, books, games . . . .The lounge made us feel very special. 4. Staff members. Friendliest of all the resorts we've been to. We tipped regularly (didn't notice many others tipping this year), but did not notice a difference in service when comparing what other guests got. 5. The beach was not crowded. I walked down to the Bahia Principe and noticed a huge difference in guest density. The resort is one of the most northerly resorts in Punta Cana. There is a vacant lot south and 2-3 more resorts north. The beach vendors were 2 miles south. 6. The main lobby was awesome. Very "Majestic" looking. Other points: 1. Beach towels: All the other reviews are true. 2. Square toilets. Different, but I wonder if we'd be saying the same thing about round toilets if we were accustomed to square ones. 3. Food: Average. They did, however, had the best filet of the three resorts we've been to. 4. Room temperature: AC worked well. There is a minimum setting (21.0 degrees C). No ceiling fans.

We stayed here for 10 days with family and friends approx. 15 people. At first glance it seems incredible but as time goes on the food is mediocre, staff overall accomodating. The beach is extremely crowded. Towels are an issue, as my daughter said, "we have to manage our towels on vacation:" You have to hold on to these room key type things and trade for towels and at the end of the day turn the towels in and get the card back, most of the time they did not have cards or you had to wait on towels. Drinks were strong, no problem getting served great drinks. The resort is extremely large and you felt like you were walking a couple of miles from the beachto the lobby. But all and al a decent vacation

This is a beautifully designed property located right at the Bavaro beach, with lush grounds and greatly planned rooms. There are 2 hotels in the complex - Majestic Elegance and Colonial. Colonial is a simpler property of the two while Elegance pretends to be luxurious 5 star property. The reason I am saying "pretends to be" lies in the level of service. In the Elegance hotel you can choose to pay extra for the Club that supposedly offers dedicated concierge service, adults only accommodations and overall better experience. The reality however, like in so many other properties, is different. Let's start from basics: 1. Check-in-Check-out. As a club member you are offered a separate check-in service. Upon arrival the concierge meets you in the lobby and welcomes you in, checks you in and walks you to your room. However, the bags arrived from the lobby after multiple calls to the front desk while noone could give us an estimate on when the bags will arrive. We also expected the check-out service to be available at the Club desk but found nothing of the sort. 2. Ongoing services. Any little thing that involves calling "dedicated Club service desk" is a pain. Asking for more pillows took 1.5 hours. Asking for robe replacement never happened even after 4 calls. Asking for champagne in the dining room could lead to 10-15 minutes delay. 3. Towels, bed linens - not at all at the level you would expect at the 5 star property. We found these really cheap and often old so much so the towels had holes in them. 4. Food. The food is so so. There are 2 restaurants you need to make reservations for, Japanese and French. Japanese is worth the effort indeed, while French is OK for anyone who has been to a good one somewhere else. The buffet selection is OK, could be much better. 5. Beach towels - our of 7 days we stayed 3 days the Club was out of the towels and I could not get them in a regular place that did have them! So to put it shortly - the level of service is subpar, especially if you come from the US.

Stayed a week here and the room was great. Ours had a view of the pool that was nice. I was with a group and a few had views of the other hotel. There is a lot of walking, the trade off for being closer to the beach is that you are farther away from the front lobby and restuarants.Rooms have either a king or two not quite doubles but beds were comfortable.Jacuzzi tube in all rooms.Shower has an adjustable hand held or overhead, water was always hot and water pressure good.Toilet was in a separate stall. The only off putting was that both shower and toilet had FROSTED glass doors. Food ws very good and a nice selection to choose from. entertainment every night and the beach was soo very nice.I did wish my spanish was better.Would go back again,

Great experience! A first class resort. Room was very comfortable, food at the restaurants was good to very good, depending on your tastes. Pools and grounds were very well kept. Awesome ocean front! Any of the staff with authority could communicate in English, but not housekeeping personnel. Brush up on Spanish basics before your stay! After purchasing some items from beach vendors, we discovered we could have done better at stores on the premises. Apparently we didn't barter hard enough!

We just got back from Majestic Elegance on Wed the 26th after a 7-day visit. This is a very nice resort. We were celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary. In the last 20 years, we only repeated a resort once. We liked this resort so much we might make it a repeat ever year. Arrival- we arrived at the resort a little early. Our room wasn't ready yet. We went and had lunch. We had swimsuits in our backpacks, so we went to the beach. Our room was ready at check in time. A bellboy took us to our room. He showed us all of the things we needed to know on the way to the room. This was very helpful. Overall, check in went good. Rooms-We got the basic room. Rooms were nice. They had everything we needed. The pillow we small, but we were able to get larger, firmer ones. No wash cloths, but we bought are own. The room was always cleaned early everyday. Maid service was good. The minibar was always stocked everyday. No issue with the air conditioner. Dining- Dining was very good. Buffets for breakfast and lunch were good and had a lot to choose from. The Sea and See also has a lunch buffet. We tried all of the restaurants. The French was our favorite. Beach/Pool-The beach was nice, but small. One of the better beaches I have been too. There were to bad days of seaweed, but the staffs clean the beach quickly. We walked the beach a couple of times. It seemed like the ME was the only resort that kept their beach cleaned. The pool was great. Water was warm. Plenty of places to sit. Never was to crowded. Bars-ME hidden secret - Go to the See and Sea restaurant around 5pm and just chill with a drink and enjoy the view...its a nice way to end the day at the beach. This is one of the nicest bar views I have every seen. No one is ever there around sunset. All of the other bars are nice. Piano Bar is also nice place to have after dinner drinks. Nativad is fun and good bartender. The Coco Club opens at 11pm and closes at 4am...its pretty happening and pretty good music, a lot of variety. Staff-The staff is one of the highlights of this resort. Everybody from the front desk, maids, cooks; waiter’s bartenders, etc. are friendly and great. Overall this is a great resort. I hope we make this a yearly thing. This resort fits my wife perfect and me. I wish we would of got the Club Room, but we booked to late. We got to walk thru the club section during our photo session. It is worth the upgrade. We did a photo session. This was will worth it. The only bad thing is the cigar store. Very small selection and way over priced. You will pay 5x the price for a cigar of what you would pay in the USA. Cubans run between 60 to 90 US dollars. If you like a cigar every day, I would recommend bringing your own.

This was our second trip to the hotel this year! We love it here. They have the largest pool we have ever seen and plenty of space to relax by the pool or the ocean. Our typical day is to just eat a great breakfast, then go for a walk along the beach before seting up by the pool relaxing reading a book and being pampered with drinks all day long, Our room was upgraded by the hotel once we got there to a suite with a secluded hot tub on the roof, a bottle of wine, and various snacks every day when we got back the the room! What a trip!

You cannot get any better than the Majestic Elegance! We went for 10 days and loved every minute of it. You are treated like royalty, the basic package rooms are better than luxury suites at some hotels, the property is breath-taking......it is honestly complete bliss. We went down to "check it out" before planning our wedding down there....and you can be sure we've made our decision! Book this resort in confidence knowing you will have the best time of your life

The hotel complex was large and well planned. Everything was centered around a lovely courtyard. As in most hotels, the music was too loud. Being from the USA, I like to have a face cloth to wash my face. Very hard to get hotel to give you one. Oh, they have them, just don't want to put them in the linen. Had to request them each day and then the maid expected a tip. Don't leave money laying around, maids think it is their tip for the day. Food was plentiful but just average. Had own transportation and hotel was dificult to find because roads are not clearly marked.
