Macleay Lodge Sydney Guest Reviews
Good location. Around the corner from excellent cafes. Walking distance to station. Parking is not a problem but for the best spots (unlimited parking) you need a little luck. Toilets and showers kept very clean.

Great place to stay, just 10 min walk to Sydney Opera !

I booked a single room which was small but adequate. It came with sink, fridge, microwave and cutlery so it was possible to prepare some meals to cut down on costs. The hotel is very near Woolworths so buying anything was very convenient. There was also a remote controlled ceiling fan which was invaluable in dealing with the humidity. The shared bathroom was tiny but modern and the shower worked well. The only downside was the garbage trucks in the adjoining lane which started loading bins at 6am on the Saturday and at 7am on the Sunday. Not a place to try and sleep in. Staff were also very friendly. This was better value than the Challis Lodge around the corner which I used previously.

when i booked the room, it never said that the bathroom is outside sharing, and room will never be cleaned everyday, we stayed 3 nights they never change bedsheets, towel or brought any coffee, cream. lighting in the room was very dull, can open the window, cause 5 feet across is the apartment window and people walking there.

It was clean. Room was absolutely tiny, not like photo on website. Very very noisy (outside noise mainly), limited ventilation, very basic bathroom facilities (2 per floor). Relatively unhelpful/unsympathetic staff.
