I have stayed at this hotel before, and as usual the taff were very good, from check in to departure. Only small niggle was that concierge couldn't drive so had to collect own car the following day. Bath in the room would be preferable to just a shower.

Nice comfortable hotel and the staff were very helpful. It was in easy reach to central Manchester, It had it's own secure parking, which was just behind the Hotel. There is a NCP carpark next to it less than half the cost of the hotel's, but it's not secure. Picadilly train station is right next door, but we didnt 't hear anything from that. All in all pretty good.

Used the Picadilly exit and got lost walked down London road to Monroes and courts decided to call the hotel for directions. was told to walk back to station and hotel is to left. Not much help as although visible from the station it is not identifiable , plus turned out the hotel was only a little further down the road from Monroes.. At the station helpful pedestrian pointed out the building and recommended re-entering the station and using the fairfield entrance . The hotel is to the left of the picadilly exit/entrance but is a shorter/quicker walk from the Fairfield exit, of the station (from where it is more visible but still not identifiable) a bit of hindsight would have saved time. Reception offered breakfast at £15 each which turned out to be over priced as they didn't have much choice for vegetrians (toast, egg, tomatoe, mushroom , b/bean , croissant n fruit, No cereal or other choice offered#. Room service appeared to try best. The hotel has a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere and the luxury/decor of the room made up for the inconvienience of searching for the building ,but still regret having breakfast # will ask exactly what is offered next time#. Iron, board, trouser press, hairdryer, tea coffee facility and safe are standard in the city view. Checkout was a bit embarassing as reception asked for payment for breakfast , As we hadn't payed for it # we had paid at check out) when we said we had paid they asked method , 9which was cash), after a few minutes they found it. Guess they need better record systems. Overall the hotel was good and definitely peaceful. view was good, room very spaciose bed comfy, bathroom spaciouse, room service helpful, very clean and well designed, close to city centre, university campus and train station . But, not impressed with direction's, 'vegetarian' breakfast and checkout.

Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights as a break. The welcome at the reception was warm and friendly. What was nice was there was no pressure to leave a credit card. The room was lovely, clean and had everything you could need....my only issue was that the tea's and coffees had not been replaced, but when the staff were asked to resolve this they dealt with it there and then. The location of the hotel is great, few minutes walk from Piccadilly Train Station and a few mintues more to the town centre. The hotel is on a main road but you wouldn't know it. The only bad point I can mention is the food at the hotel is expensive so sadly opted to eat out which there is plentry of choice nearby.

Loved the room. Very spacious, comfortable and the bathroom was fantstic. Staff at reception were very good and welcoming. I think that for a hotel of this standard, the bar area is not up to scratch. It seems like you are just sitting in the lobby area. Very overpriced for the limited selection of beers and wines. Service in the bar was ok. Again, not what you would expect from the standard that this hotel portrays itself to be.

THis hotel has a good location, being next to the main train station in Manchester. The rooms a large with very quait, with large windows the length of the room. If you need a bath you will need to ask, as some of the rooms have showers only. The breackfast is very good, there is a good selection for vegeterians. A good price and large rooms for Manchester.

Location: Right next to the Fairfield St exit of Piccadilly train station. Less than a 10 minute walk from the city centre and very handy if you are going to the Apollo theatre which is walking distance straight down the A6. Nice spacious hotel. Large rooms. We were room only so can't comment on breakfast. Spa area lovely but no swimming-pool makes this hotel good instead of excellent. How can you have a spa with 2 saunas, a steam room, tropical shower and heated mosaic tiled benches and no swimming-pool? Sorry Macdonald you've missed a trick here to make this hotel one of the very best in Manchester.

One word, amazing! One of the best hotels i have ever stayed in and such a great price for what we got. The big window overlooking the city was so unexpected and the first thing we noticed about the room. The bathroom was great too, a big seperate shower and a big bath. Nicely decorated in marble. The Bed was so comfortable and plenty of room for us (queen size bed). There was a litle table and chairs and an ipod dock next to the wardrobe (which we made good use of!) We had a minibar in room but didnt use it as it had to be unlocked by the reception. We did however ask reception to deliver ice for our icebucket - nice touch! The only thing I was disappointed with was the price of food and drinks in the hotel. Me and my husband had 2 sandwiches and two cokes. We were £23! When we arrived we ordered two alcoholic drinks. Was £9 for two which i thought a bit steep as one was a pint! We had drink in our room instead with the free ice!! :) Also we didnt get sky in our room!
