Macdonald Leeming House Hotel Ullswater Guest Reviews

4 out of 5

Room was nice and overlooking the lake was a bonus. Price of drinks was expensive

Excellent quality and friendly hotel, good value compared to others on offer in the area. Quiet location, but accessible from Penrith. Only downside is that it's a fair drive to major areas in lakes (e.g. Ambleside, Keswick etc) and there's no local village to stroll round without getting in the car.

The room was fairly basic, no view, I imagine this was because we were paying a discount rate. Even though the hotel knew this was to celebrate our silver wedding, no attempt was made to recognise this, unlike the Sharrow Bay, where we had dinner, and they went out of their way to create a small celebration dessert. Absolutely wonderful grounds though and the breakfast was reasonable.
