Macdonald Forest Hills Hotel & Resort Guest Reviews
Beautiful surroundings and lots of activities...be sure to take the time to enjoy this. Room rates, food and amenities are over-priced when quality is considered.

A very lovely hotel in a beautiful location. It is quite isolated so there are no shops or bars nearby in walking distance, but the surroundings and facilities make up for this.

Room in Attic with no lift access - for older people less mobile a bad situation. Due to a wedding - terrace and seating area out of bounds for hotel guests - we only had one night there and we were confined to bar area, not great. Half an hour wait for a cooked breakfast in morning was poor, the wedding party only consisted of about 40 guests so dont think that should have affected guests breakfasts! The only thing four star is the view and situation.

Located on the shores of Loch Ard, our stay was so peaceful and was the most perfect spot to access some beautiful walks and views. We were spoilt at the MacDonald Forest Hills Hotel and enjoyed a lovely meal in the Garden Restaurant overlooking the gardens and Loch. We had a room with a view over the Loch and enjoyed relaxing using the leisure facilities - a wonderful, relaxing escape-from-it-all type break. You must also visit the Wee Blether Tea Room in the village down the lane!

A good hotel in a wonderful location overlooking Loch Ard with views of Ben Lomond. The rooms were very good, I had a family room which was a good size including a sofa bed, well decorated, clean and fresh. The only two issues I had was that 1) the leisure facitilty changing rooms were very poor, basically a bench in the toilets 2) The food and drink was expensive for what you got (eg 8.80 GBP for a beer and G&T, cheapest wine 17GBP, an OK dinner 25 GBP pp). Overall a good hotel which I would recommend. A lot of the Polish waiter staff could hardly speak English though.
