Lord Nelson Hotel Liverpool
3.8 out of 5

If you are not a fussy person and just want a cheap and excellent located hotel for a short stay in liverpool (over the weekend) then this place would be ideal. If things such as cleanliness and loud sounds or lack of faciliites are important to you then better to pay a bit more and stay elsewhere. But for somewhere to just leave your things and sleep while you spend the day out in the city or at the football, then definitely ideal.

very convenient to Lime Street Train station. The room is small but for the price you pay it is expected.

No telephone or save in room. No proper locks on windows and the lock on the door didn't seem very safe to me. Location was ok but there are lots of hotels nearer the centre for the same price. The real killer was the TV had one station working ! No pay TV. Pratically no TV. On the other side staff in reception were pleasant and their was a pub out the back that was showing the footie. Won't go back to be honest.

Hotel very good, for price, and staff very friendly and helpful. The room I was allocated was supposed to be a double room. The only double was the bed itself. The room was very small and it was difficult getting round the bed. My stay would have been ideal, if the room had been bigger. How two people could survive in that room, for any length of time, amazes me.

Very basic and simple old hotel. Not much to choose from at breakfast. Didn't change our towels. Didn't make our beds. But nice location, very very friendly staff and good price. All in all, for a couple of nights, it's a good deal.

the room was dirty cramped with a very dirty carpet, the lift didnt work, it was noisy all night due to being next to a taxi rank, and its drunks The bed was the most uncomfortable bed iv ever slept in and the bedding had holes in, in all we got about 3 hours sleep. the only good point is that the staff were excellent and the breakfast plentyfull, though there wasnt enough tables for all the guests some had to eat perched on a stool with their meal balenced on another stool

Possibly the noisiest hotel in Britain. Noise of lift permeates the place and, when switched off at 11pm, is replaced by raucous guests shouting and singing into the early hours. Grossly overpriced considering its very real limitations. If you have to stay there by any chance, specify a room as remote from the lift as possible

A very good, basic but reasonably priced hotel, marred only by the Carling Academy next door, so that to about 11pm you have a choice between open window and loud music on one hand, and a closed window and peace & quiet. NB This may only be on the side of the building that i was on...

Reception and cleaning staff very friendly and made my cousin and myself feel very welcome. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for the "night porter / barman" who made us feel very unwelcome and we felt we were asking a great favour by actually ordering a drink and causing him to walk behind the bar to serve us!!!! Rooms were clean and warm although a chair placed in the bedroom would be an added bonus. Altogether value for money.
