Very good. Although Champs restaurant was a bit pricey the food was good and service very good. Bellhop services great on a windy, rainy night after a long trip from out of town.

PERFECT LOCATION

This hotel has one good thing going for it but unfortunately, the cons out weight the pros. The front desk and executive staff is very friendly and concerned. if you have a problem in your room, the take it very seriously and send maintenance, housekeeping or whoever up to you very quickly. They are very responsive, very kind, understanding and if you need to switch rooms, they make it very easy on you. The majority of the staff is extremely nice. However, that's all I can say that's good here, having great staff alone does not a great experience make... This hotel is meant mainly for conventioneers and people who need easy access to the Nassau Coliseum. If you have a work convention or something at the Coliseum, this is a great hotel, otherwise, for family travel, I wouldn't recommend it. They offer NO shuttle service to or from any plane or train station anywhere, and are not very good at helping you arrange for transportation to the hotel. They do have cabs at the hotel almost always, once you get there. There is one restaurant and one sports bar/grill, which shares it's menu with room service. Both are seriously over priced for the quality but that is normal for Long Island and quality isn't bad, just not remotely worth the expense. Making it worse, the location of the hotel is right on the highway and the staff says straight out that you should never try to walk anywhere (which is fine because you can't) so you will always have to have a rental car or use a cab to get anywhere. Nothing is free, or cheap, at this hotel so if you don't want to go to the one restaurant for breakfast, or find a coffee shop with free wifi, you have to not only figure out where to go (as the informatino desk knows nothing at all), but then spend money on a cab or rental car. The information desk couldn't even tell me when the hotel restaurant opened! If you ask a question, you either get a brochure, are told a cab driver can help you, or get a blank stare. The rooms are nice, but designed for people who do not intend to spend too much time in them. The beds are very comfortable but the window sills have a marble looking plastic molding that is cracked in every room I saw, the exhaust fans in the bathrooms are very weak, the windows are so old and not sealed well so the humidity gets in in the summer. Also, certain things women don't like to mention, and body functions we don't like to speak of, don't flush very easily. Anything thicker than toilet paper doesn't go down without either repeated flushes or using something to break it up. Sorry to gross you out but it's unfortunately true. Internet is $12.95 per day, which is the most I've ever seen, the business center is more expensive and even if you have a smart phone that lets you use it as a modem or hotspot, they've made sure, like many hotels, that you can't get a wireless data signal anywhere in the room. it's very frustrating. Overall, as I said, if you have a convention at this hotel or an even at Nassau Colosseum, and everything you need is paid for and set up by the convention, or your company, this is a nice hotel to stay at. If you are visiting family or on vacation, this hotel is not only extremely inconvenient, it's just not worth it.
