Just steps from the water bus stops, St Mark's Square and all a tourist would want in a hotel location. The staff is friendly and helps those struggling with Italian. Breakfast is good but does get tiring after a few days- my favorites were the fresh bread and ability to make my own soft-boiled egg. The welcoming fruit basket and espresso were fantastic. Special attention on my birthday was appreciated. Housekeeping not consistant..when good it was fabulous. Other times ho hum (they didn't notice when the TP was down to it's last few sheets). The resturant is small but nice, with a spectacular view. Pricey but worth it. Don't forget to ask for the free water taxi to Murano and the private glass factory tour.

A lovely boutique style hotel on the edge of the main canal where yo ucan see the cruise ships coming and going and watch a city be serviced by waterways and water craft. The hotel is very handy to everything and even though it borders the canal and foreshore it is very quiet at night.

We stayed 4 nights in the Vivaldi, was easy to get to from the airport, via the water bus (12 euros each). Room was excellent with views out over the basin and San Giorgio maggiore, Very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was what you expect for a European hotel, the hot buffet comprised of scrambled or hard boiled eggs though. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the location was brillent only a 2 min walk to St Marks square.

The staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly. When I asked for some rolls at night to go with our al fresco dinner, they baked up a batch of fresh rolls and delivered to our room at no charge. The noises from the water front were not disturbing but rather added to fact the room was on the lagoon and that boats were active on the water...it added to the wonderful room. We will stay here again.

Being in Venice, this hotel is good. Good breakfast. Only 3 minutes walk to the famous San Mar s. but a bit noisy since it is located in front of ferry's docking station, the ferry's horn is load and can wake you up.
