Klaipeda Climate
The Klaipeda climate is classified as a cross between an oceanic and continental climate, which produces coldish winters and warm summers. The average high temperatures peak at around 20°C in August and drop to just below 0°C in January and February. The wettest months are from August to November, due to the warmth of the Baltic Sea meeting the westerly winds from the continent.
Getting There & Around
The nearest international airport is in Palanga. There are regular buses running to Klaipeda from Vilnius, Kaunas and Riga. You can get ferries from Kiel in Germany or Karlshamn in Sweden as well.
There is a reasonable bus service in the city that is fairly cheap. There are many taxis available as well that are reasonably priced.
