Lighthouse Lodge & Suites Guest Reviews

Mother/daughter getaway at a great location and at a great price. This facility is a favorite of mine and my family. Breakfast and BBQ dinner included in the price. Off the main street so quiet and so close to the beach.

We stayed at the Lighthouse Inn while driving up the coast to San Francisco. We stayed at 4 hotels on the trip, and this was by far the best. There was a short delay in checking in so we were upgraded to a suite. It was a beautiful room. The staff was so friendly. Even the painter gave us directions. The breakfast was the best free breakfast I have had at a hotel. I was sorry we only stayed only one night.

Well, let's just say the location is great. Worth two stars, and then nothing else gets a star. It's a bit of a dump, which I can deal with on occasions. We reserved a roll away, didn't get one and when they finally bought one, it clearly had been retrieved from the dump. I would not let my kid sleep on it, unless I wanted to torture him for information. We opted for a makeshift bed of blankets (really tattered ones) and sheets on the floor instead. Oh, did I mention the oppressive smell of paint? I think they had just painted a few hours earlier that day. Fresh paint, a plus, not airing out the room , a huge minus. We needed the doors & windows open for at least an hour. The breakfast wasn't bad, and the staff was nice enough, too bad the owners don't care about the property. Just a little TLC and it would a great little spot. It is a great location. The only thing between it and the ocean is the cemetary, nice and quiet! We brought our bikes and all rode to the Monteray Aquarium. Two 12 year olds and a 7 year old. Great riding area.

This is my 2nd experience at this regreatable hotel I am embarrassed to say. I got a good deal so I went with it. I have never seen so much mold in one place , the curtains, the bathroom, the walls are covered in it. The carpet was so filthy I went into town to buy slippers. Really stained and big stains everywhere. The smell of the room was urine, dog and person. The caulking strip on the bathroom was filthy and falling off, again covered in mold. The room was 70's dated and everything was falling apart. The walls are paper thin and believe me you hear everything. The maids are rude, they stand outside your room complaining in spanish (yes I understood) if you do not leave the room by 10. When you leave your room they roll their eyes and look you up and down. The breakfast, was Mexican style with unrecognizable spices that made me sick. REALLY watered down coffee and juices, old fruit and some scramble eggs that are lumply and cold. Keep in mind I already complained the first time when they gave me a room with a gas leak and mold everywhere-they promised to give me a "premier" room this time. Pure garbage, the property is in bankruptcy and you can see why. Their advertising is false, it misrepresents what they really are which is 70's decor, falling apart, dirty and urine stained rooms. Do not bother. You will regret it. They also allow children to take over the pool and hot tub so no adults can use them. They do not ask people to be quiet so I had to listen to drunks until 4 am after calling 4 times to ask them to please stop the party noise. When you check out and tell them your concerns, they do not care. The area and location makes this attractive but it is so disgusting. Do not be fooled by their signs and advertising. Stay nearby at much nicer hotels. This is so filthy that you will not feel clean.
