We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Les Brises. The view out to sea is fabulous. The room was excellent and the balcony was a great addition. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice and the linen tablecloths add a little extra. The walk into the centre was very pleasant and not too long.

No tea or coffee making facilities in the room. For this reason it is a bit over-priced. This hotel is about 15 min walk to the old port and city and even longer to the railway station. There is a bus service that goes past the hotel but it's last run is around 7pm and meals are not generally serviced before 6:30pm in the restaurants in town. Free WiFi in the room.

If ever you get to La Rochelle I highly recommend both the town and this Hotel. The location overlooking the bay and out to the Atlantic is spectacular. The fortifications and the old town are steeped in history. I read a review on the Hotel which complained that it was a 20 minute walk from the town. It's more like a pleasant 15 minute stroll along a waterfront pathway surrounded by well kept attractive gardens. There are a multitude of bars and restaurants within the town and on the quays.

To appreciate the position of the hotel you must book a room with a sea view and balcony. Only breakfast available but within walking distance (20 mins) of La Rochelle centre. Free underground parking a bonus as parking in La Rochelle a nightmare!
