Location
Four hundred metres from the bus and train stations, the Leon D'Oro is convenient for guests arriving from outside the city with links to the airport six kilometres away. Once in the city most of the attractions and exhibition centres are within easy reach, the Fiera di Verona and Fratelli Bolla are both one kilometre from the hotel.
Rooms
The Leon D'Oro offers its guests spacious and comfortable rooms and suites. All rooms feature air conditioning, safe, Internet access, mini bar, and satellite TV.

This hotel was a bit out of the way but, the walk to the City Center if Verona wasn't bad and it was pretty much a straight shot to the Colosseum. It was very clean and comfortable. We were very happy to stay and would stay again.

I do not agree with some of the previous reviews. Yes there is a lack of facilities and yes the rooms are a bit tired but overall it is a very comfortable hotel with lovely and very friendly staff who look after you so well. The food we ate in the resteraunt was excellent although the breakfast was only average it was satisfactory. The walk into town was only 10 minutes and only the first 100metres was a bit grubby after that it was fine. Taxis were easy to arrange and quite resonably priced and the hotel arranged for a bus to take guests into town to attend the opera so very convenient. Overall a reasonable hotel which does what it says on the tin. It could be a lot better if it had a gym, swimming pool and an outside terrace, but other than that it more than met our needs.

Hotel location was fine for us as we had a 15 min walk into the main square in Verona. However, at night a taxi home would be required as there is a 40 metre unlit underpass to go through just before reaching the hotel. Otherwise the hotel, and everything about it was very good.

We were very happy with this hotel, the staff were very polite and welcoming, we found it to be good value and very convenient for getting to the centre of Verona.

This hotel may be a 4-star hotel, but the service lack the service you expect from a hotel at that level. Nothing was included in the price. From - parking in the hotel parking €16 a night for outdoors stand - to the €10 breakfast - and that was not just because we had a discount on the full price. The hotel is not as described a 10 minutes walk from center of Verona it is more like 20 min plus. Just outside the hotel on your way to the centre, you have to walk through a under passage 30 - 40 meter, in which I both on the in and out trip encountered unsavory types. Look closer to town her you may even find a hotel of the same name as the city.
