Leisure Inn Wellington

Always stay here. Good, reasonably priced hotel. The only gripe is that the underlays on the beds have been soiled or stained on the last three visits. Not nice! It's a shame, because the rooms are very comfortable, the staff are excellent, efficient and friendly, and the windows are sound proofed.

I can't describe my experience at this hotel because I've never been there. I made my booking by internet and payed $208 for two nights. One week before my trip my daughter had a problem and I couldn't go to Wellington. I'd tried to change my booking and I was informed by the call centre that the Hotel didn't alowed the change. So, I realy didn't recomend this hotel, because this is not a way to treat a client. Next time I'll go to book another hotel, even do I need to pay more.

The room was adequate for our requirements. A two night stay with breakfast included at a good price. (They did try to charge us for breakfast when we checked out, but removed the charge without question when I told them that breakfast was included in the room charge.) The location was good, a short easy walk into the city centre and only 15 minutes from the airport. We ate in the hotel restaurant the first night and had a great meal with wonderful service from Tim. He was very helpful and made the night even more enjoyable. Our only complaint was the lack of air-conditioning. The room we had received the afternoon sun and was very warm upon arrival. Opening the windows helped a little and a request for a fan was promptly answered. Overall, a nice place for a short stay and a good price.

Good value hotel, especially if you have a car as parking included. It's about ten minutes walk into Cuba St but possible to drive (if patient with one way system!) and park free in the evening (need to check times as they vary). We took 20 mins to Courtney Place. Lift is slow and there is no ramp if hauling a heavy wheeled suitcase inside. Otherwise good. It has a restaurant and bar which are standard prices for a hotel of its type. Lift is slow but reliable. It is quiet which some of the more central hotels in its price range arent.

We have used this hotel, (and other Mercure Hotels) a number of times, and are very happy with it. Only real gripe - staff need to check mattress protectors for cleanliness. I always strip bed when we leave, to save staff time, and hate finding soiled or stained protectors. Everything else is excellent, so please take care of this problem. Maintenance problems (not reported by previous visitors) are sorted out speedily, staff are really on to it, and we enjoy the walk down Willis Street. Miss the lovely swimming pool! Was there for family christening.

Shower on level 5 has very low pressure and the shower curtain is too short, water just run to the floor! Otherwise the hotel is OK.

Good location, staff ishelpful but rooms are small and a bit noisy from street traffic. Free parking is the bonus.

Perfectly situated for our purpose being close to Brooklyn and not getting lost in one way street traffic in Wellington. Hotel car parking was free and the room was very spacious, clean and warm. We imagined a view and that way got over the lack of it... Food in the restaurant was delicious and staff were friendly. Street noise wasn't an issue, the elevator next to our room woke me up in the morning when people started to check out, other than that a real pleasant surprise and value for money.

We've stayed here before. Perfect for our needs. My only regret is that we didn't have time for the lovely heated swimming pool on this trip!

Its the old YMCA with new carpet and paint. Ceilings still have asbestos lining. Wardrobe consists of an uncovered 5 hook system hanging off the wall. Toilet and bathroom separate from hand basin. Rooms small and have no privacy when you open the door the whole room is in view as well and anyone dreesing or in bed.Lift slow. Staff were generally helpful but needs a real upgrade to bring it to standard.

The staff were helpful, especially in the restaurant. The hotel had free parking in an area, which is essential when there is no free street parking and free wi-fi for 30minutes per day in the foyer. We were within walking distance of the centre of town.

It left a lot to be desired in terms of cleanliness. The lid on the rubbish bin was broken and had not been cleaned in a good while. In general the overall hotel is in need of tender loving care. On our return I discovered that I had been charged $182.40 to my credit card in error. This took the hotel staff two days to sort and the only explanation I received from the Accounts Manager was that an amount had been incorrectly debited to my credit card. If I had been an overseas tourist I probably would never have picked this error up, this leaves me to question how often this is occurring without anyone realising the error, or I question whether a financial auditing process is in place.
