Lee Garden Service Apartment Beijing Guest Reviews
After much internet research we finally decided on Lee Garden Service Apts because of the price and the fact that we could get a 2 bedroom apartment. When we arrived and checked-in, we could not have been happier with the hotel!! Its in a very nice part of town, right on the main street. Close to subways, buses, shopping malls, and snack street (if you are hungry for a fried bug or something). The valets were always friendly and helpful, and we got 4 bottles of water each day in our room. Having seperate sleeping rooms made all the difference because we were traveling with a baby who needed to go to bed early. Also, the room had a tiny washer/dryer which really helped keep our packing to a minimum. The baby crib they supplied was not too great, pretty rickity. The room key had a $600 US deposit! That was a bit much I think! Other than that, we loved this hotel and would absolutly recommend it to anyone!

The price is probably comparable to neighboring 4 star hotels, however the facilities are older and appliances don't function as well anymore. Is there any other hotel that has washer and dryer and a full kitchen? We booked this hotel mostly because it said to have cloth washer and dryer. Well, there is no dryer, the dry function of the washing machine doesn't work. We had to go thru a lot of trouble to change to a different washing machine, so at least the spin function work, and we hang cloth to dry. The download speed of their internet connection is 16.3 kb per second, (you read correctly: 16.3). We tested it several times. 10 times slower than a diag-up in China. Be aware. One side of the hotel is right next to an elementary school, so no sleeping in. There is a kitchen, but no cookware in the room, they rent to long term guests, so we had to buy some for our 10 days staying. Wouldn't it make more sense to rent to short time guests? Staff there are generally very nice and hard working, including the doormen, maids and the front desk staff. Maids don't speak much English but they are hardworking and deserve a lot of tips. We'll look for something different next time.

The only complaint with the room is that the AC didn't cool the room down enough. Other than that the hotel was great. The staff was very friendly and sppoke excellent English. The accomodations weren't lavish, but were perfect for what we needed. We had plenty of room to spread out with our kids, it was very clean, and everything was in good repair and cosmetically in good shape. The kitchen was also a nice addition so we could leisurely enjoy our breakfast. The walk to the Forbidden City took about 15 minutes, and there were also plenty of restaurants and shops in close proximity. The subway was three blocks away which made it very easy to avoid the traffic and head a little further away.

Very professional and friendly staff at front desk. My complaint is that the Internet was sometimes really slow.
