It has a beautiful setting and was spotlessly clean but getting tired. We had difficulty with our reservation which they were slow to sort out. They hadn't received our booking from this Web site. Disappointing not to have access to an Aus TV station offered by other hotels in NC. Evening dining options were two all you could eat buffets or the expensive a la carte. We were forced to go out. Communication of available services was poor. I wanted a masssage but couldn't work out how to get one. They offered free internet but wouldn't help when the english keyboard wasn't working.

The Le Meridien (Starwood) Hotel was opened in 1995 (15 years ago), all staff very friendly and courteous, most spoke broken English, big plus in Noumea. Hotel is in need of a refurbishment upgrade ie, beds, carpets, furniture in rooms & updated TV's (ie LCD's or Plasma's). The gardens & pool area were always very tidy & well maintained. Breakfast was great, lunch & dinner was at local restaurants which is something I always do when travelling overseas. In relation to beverages I had my Duty Free bottle of Haig Dimple to keep me company also visited the local supermarket a couple of times for mineral water etc, much cheaper than purchasing at the hotel. To summarise I would not hesitate to again stay at the Le Meridien (Starwood) Hotel in Noumea. Additional Information...Staff at reception informed me there was a new Sheraton (Starwood) Hotel soon to commence being constructed located 2 hours north of the Le Meridien (Starwood) Hotel, due for completion late 2011.
