Latham Hotel Downtown Philadelphia Guest Reviews
We never actually stated at this hotel because it was overbooked. Extremely inconvenient. they didn't even call to tell us. I called the hotel about an hour before check in to let them know my friend was showing up before I was since the reservation was in my name. That's when they told me we couldn't stay there. They ended up booking us a room at the sheraton instead. Which would've been fine except we picked the lathom for its location. The manager I spoke to told me that the sheraton was within walking distance, ended up being all the way across town. So my friend had to park by the lathom, get some paper from the front desk, then drive and park again at the sheraton. He also told me that both people from the two hotels were very rude about the whole thing and we received no compensation from either of them.

Lovely hotel in a very central location Did provide coffee dripulator but we are teas drinkers. Did provide conditioner with the shampoo and shower caps. The room was beautiful, beds comfortable. There was no doorman on saturday when we left .We stopped our own cab not realising there was a taxi stand .Enquries directed to the doorman about where to eat were replied with there are hundreds of places, not helpful. The front desk had 2 ladies except the one out front didn't know how to check you in or out and needed to call for assistance. Great rooms, no food, slack front of house.

The room and bathroom were small but clean. The odd thing is that it seemed more like an apartment building with a doorman since there was no lobby to speak of, no bar or even vending machines. Valet parking was available but no visible price given ($30 a day), some public lots in the area were a bit cheaper.

I loved it. The hotel staff was excellent, Dorothy (from room service) was outstanding, the door man called me by name and other staff were friendly and helpful. This is not your normal corporate chain hotel but a small quiet unique hotel. With-in three blocks I found resturants with a variety of prices, a drug store, shopping and a church. Ritten Hourse Square is 2 blocks away with a small town feel in the middle of a large city. I would definately go back.

We found the hotel to have very good price to value ratio. Pluses: central location, huge marble bath, daily newspaper Minus: some of the furniture looks tied
