Landmark Hotel Macau
3 out of 5

The entrance decor leads one to believe this will be a fabulous hotel, but sadly it is not. The room was adequate, but a little tired and in need of decoration. There was a broken table lamp which any housekeeper should never have failed to notice. The room information neglects to mention which of the restaurants serves the inclusive breakfast, or at what times. Two calls were required to the front desk to answer this- the first one resulted in a man claiming that breakfast started at 09:30, which had to be wrong. The second, to a lady, corrected this. The breakfast, as so many others have written here, was terrible. It was as if half a poorly cooked buffet had been laid out and left to go cold. The first morning there was bacon, burned to a crisp, scrambled egg which looked and tasted like sour rubber, and a fruit 'selection' of melon, along with some Chinese style noodles and rolls. The second morning I found baked beans to my great delight, yet they turned out to be cold. When I asked if there was any more bacon to go into the empty serving dish, the waitress replied "no". This word should not be in the vocabulary of the service staff in a so-called 5 star hotel, and certainly not for such a basic breakfast item they had served the previous day. As we left I noticed a dish of hash browns had appeared. The other items I tried- sausages and tomato were cheap and poorly cooked, and also almost cold. If I sound critical it is because I have worked in the trade, and have eaten breakfasts that put this one to shame in many international cities, in 4 star or even 3 star hotels. They should be ashamed of their food. The casino was nothing special, when compared to the Wynn or the Venetian. The location is ok, quite central and convenient. The leisure facilities were also ok. I would suggest that there are many better choices for your money, and next time I will definitely not stay there again.

As we arrived at the hotel main entrance it gives a look of No disappointment we had chosen this hotel ! feel pleasant at the lobby and comfortable as we entre the hotel room. But a little unexpected there is no direct lift to the room floors. Putting staffs on duty at the 6th floor lobby does give a sense of security .
