Lakeside Hotel Windermere
5 out of 5

The room wasn't the largest room but it was comfortable. The hotel was expensive and all of the extras added up at the end of the break but we were there to spoil ourselves. The food was really good, plenty of choice at breakfast. The pool was great and we picked our times so that it was relatively empty, loved all the Molton Brown products in the showers at the pool. We enjoyed a massage there(at a price) but it was very relaxing. The staff could not do enough for us, the waitress even organising different desserts for my husband to cater for his food intolerance. The views from the hotel conservatory were wonderful and we truly felt that we had been spoilt. If you want a treat then this is the perfect place. We will definitley be going back.

Exellent staff, great food worth every penny esp as [website] got a rate £50 less than advertised for two people per night. I would rate it at 41/2 stars.

I have stayed in this hotel on another three occasions, excellent service, but this time the sevice in dining rooms was very slow indeed. Price of meals have risen sharply . The staff where very polite and curteous and respectful. I would suggest that managers need to get a grip of the situation and manage. The hotel to my knowledge has not been painted in the last five years. Apart from my observations, as usual I enjoyed my stay.

Beautiful Country House hotel, located at the South side of the lake, a 40-minute boat trip from Bowness/Windermere which is worth it. Hotel has a lovely swimming pool and spa area, with some lovely (but not cheap) treatments - you need to book in advance tho! Service from all aspects of hotel is excellent, and all staff very friendly, welcoming and helpful. I feel the restaurant prices are a bit expensive, but the food is very good, especially the breakfasts. Probably one of the best hotels to stay in for Windermere area, but at the top of most people's price bracket. Worth it though. Highly recommended.

Was given a very poor twin room on arrival (had booked a double)which had not been cleaned properly and had very tired decor. Complained to the management and was given an upgrade with minimal fuss. Spa, Pool and Gym all very good. Overall a good hotel with good staff and a nice feel to it.

We had a lovely weekend at the Lakeside Hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful at all times. the only suggestion I would make is that they play some music in the conservatory in the evening after the pianist has finished.

The hotel is really lovely - the location is brilliant, the bedrooms were clean and large and the bed very comfortable. However, we felt that neither of the resturants were great value for money for the evening meal.

The Lakeside Hotel was a very pleasant venue to spend a weekend away in the UK. We were very impressed with the delicious food and the facilities at the hotel, although the gym could have been a little bigger and more varied. The conservatory in the hotel had an excellent view of the Lake. The service was excellent; all of the staff were very courteous, friendly and very helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel is fantastic! Staff were very helpful and were always happy to make your stay a comfortable one. The hotel is beautiful with lovely rooms and the pool facilities were well maintained, clean and modern. Would definately recommend this hotel and we shall be going back again and again. The location on the lake is stunning and although most 'tourist destinations' are a drive away, it is nice to have a bit of distance from them and to get out in the car to explore. You can then come back to the peace and tranquility of the hotel. Food at the hotel is expensive but worth the treat on one night at least!
