Lakehouse Cameron Highlands (The) Guest Reviews

"The lakehouse hotel looks like it is straight out of the English countryside. The staff were attentive addressing us by our names, the rooms spacious, beds and bathroom clean and comfortable. A little on the expensive side for countryside Malaysia, a gin tonic + whisky at the bar was 85MYR and a BBQ dinner 140MYR although the closest town Tanah Rata has a good selection of restaurants. I was expecting to see an old English couple still running this hotel, but as I later found out the hotel was bought over by a consortium which was slightly disappointing. "

"Built in the colonial era, and has not changed a bit since then. Somewhere that should be experienced at least once. Room had bath, shower, 4 poster bed. It may not have changed in 50 years, but it was really well done. Staff were very helpful in arranging tours and the restaurant served excellent food in the evenings. "

"Very personalised service. Cosy atmosphere. good place to relax and unwind. A nice romantic setting not so suitable for families though. The jungle trek was a welcome bonus. Highly recommended."

"We enjoyed our stay very much. It was good to breathe cool fresh air after several days in the hot and humid atmosphere elsewhere in Malaysia. The staff could not have been more freindly or helpful."

"Good hotel and nice room (junior suite). However, it would be good if the rooms are airconditioned as there is a noisy road outside. Food good but wine is very overpriced for what is rated as a mediocre quality wines. "
