My check-in was seamless. The staff was pleasant and helpful. My bag had been lost and was due to be delivered in the middle of the night. The front desk call at 2am and I had my belongings. Shockingly, when I woke in the morning, I noticed several live bugs on the sheets next to me! I collected them on a card and placed them in the sink. I immediately thought they were bed bugs but on second glance believe they may be ticks. (The hotel allows pets). There were a few (2-3) large black ones and several (2-3) smaller reddish ones. The hotel staff (same as the overnight clerk) responded immediately. I needed to return to the room (400) to shower & pack. A member of housekeeping was there in a few moments to inspect and would return once I was checked out. Later, I was given a new room which I entered and left my bag but then moved on to my day's activities. Upon my return, I inspected the new room and it appeared fine. Naturally, I was hesitant, but overall, everything appeared clean (bathroom, dresser tops, windows) and there was no odor. So I did stay the second night. Upon checkout, I requested compensation and the clerk said the manager was not there but "wanted to do something special" for me. He gave me her card (Kimmie Townsend) and took my information. I have not heard anything as yet. I'm sure you can appreciate how disturbing this is. I was very discreet in my conversations with staff so as not to alarm the other guests. I do, however, expect to be compensated and hope I hear something very soon. I hesitate to recommend La Quinta. Perhaps the pet policy could be examined or it's housekeeping policies scrutinized. With it's very close proximity to the UR (I was there for my reunion) and it's very cordial staff, it could be an excellent place to stay.

I had business downtown but didn't want to stay there. This hotel was priced right clean and convenient to downtown and also the interstate for easy acces coming into the Rochester area.

The hotel was easily accessable to the freeway....rooms were small but clean, breakfast every morning was average.....
