La Quinta Inn Queens New York City Guest Reviews (11)
My daughter and I are just back after spending a week in La Quinta Inn The hotel is clean and the staff both helpful and friendly It is only three blocks from both 34th & 40th subway station (we were advised to use 40th stop) There is a fridgeand coffee making facilities in the room Breakfast is a little on the boring side bagals, doughnuts, muffins, toast, bananas, cornflakes, branflakes, tea, coffee, juice and what I think was supposed to be sausages and pancakes The only thing I could find negetive about the hotel was if you went shopping you were out for the day to far to come back and change clothes to go out again Check out the Blitz for food it is on 46th st

When I first read the reviews, I was really looking forward to this place and thought that it would be great. Well, when we went there in April 2012, the place turned out to be so-so. Parking is free, but limited (come back early to secure a lot). Breakfast is complimentary, but once again so-so (limited tables and chairs, with simple bread/muffins.. if you come early you might get donuts/bagels). The shower head in bathtub is really ODD, it doesn't use a switch but you have to pull some golden ring attached to the tap in the bathtub (I recommend that test it out first, else call the reception on instructions before jumping into the shower). However, have to admit that the location is quite good as it was very close to 2 subway stations. I guess in NYC, it's hard to find a cheap and good place, so this is sufficient.

We enjoyed our stay even though the position meant travelling into New York each day by train - which was close by. Breakfast was supplied (cereal, croissants, toast) which was quite sufficient to start the day and enjoyed by all guests. The only down side was that students by the bus load (late teens) also chose to stay during our time and they are not mindful of other guest when it comes to noise late at night. The staff were very helpfull with any queries we had. There is a great diner just down the street.

The room was clean with basic amenities. It's a little small, but it works. We had a refrigerator in the room. Since we spent most of our time in the city, this was a perfect home base. The train stop is very close and it is a quick ride to Manhattan. The neighborhood is safe and I felt comfortable walking back and forth to the train. There is a 24 hour diner near the hotel that we hit on our way home. The free breakfast at the hotel was pretty basic, but it saved us from buying breakfast. We also used the free parking, which was convenient. Overall an affordable clean bed with good access to transportation and parking.

Passing through NYC and needed a hotel convenient to both Manhattan and JFK airport. The Sunnyside location is perfect, and near my favorite Queens restaurant Salt&Fat. Comfortable king-sized bed, perfectly cordial staff. Nothing above and beyond, but at $150/night excellent value for NYC area.
