La Quinta Inn Austin South IH35 Guest Reviews
I loved the location, in the intersection of two major freeways. Presently there is construction but it wasn't too bad. There were plenty of towels and soaps, however the night we stayed the power went out. When I asked about being refunded (because I was told we we're since the power outage). I mentioned I went through Orbitz, while explaining the process she became rude. She took my info (which she never called) and just threw my key (I gave her) to the side. If i go back, i hope never to encounter her. I would recommend it only because of the location.

Nice staff very pleasant, they checked in with us after a couple hours to see if room met our standards. Nice and clean.

My wife and I were in Austin from Friday to Monday to attend our grandson's baptism on Sunday. The motel is old and we remembered staying there many years ago. Our room was nice and smelled good, but i missed not having a refrigerator. On Saturday evening we returned to our room and found it had not been serviced. When i called the front desk I were told there was nobody to service the room and that they were out of clean towels. We were told they would reduce the cost for the night by $5. I told her we needed the room serviced and clean towels. My wife then went to the front desk and demanded that the manager be contacted. The manager was contacted and arranged for us to get clean towels and we were told that [...], one of the nights would be free. We are awaiting to see our credit card bill to see if one night was credited back to us as we were told it would be. We felt badly because the other grandparents elected to stay there because we were staying there. Although they had booked a nonsmoking room, their room had the strong odor of cigarette smoke and two ash trays in it.

Arrived at the hotel. Was assigned our room, which was supposed to be a handicap room, but wasn't, because they did not have any. Our room was in an area of the hotel, way in the back, where the "truckers" congregate. Our room was not very clean. Behind the table between the beds was a tube of something that was left on the floor. The bathroom had black mold on the ceiling of the shower as well on the grout on the wall tiles. This was not the best that they could have given us. I have respiratory problems and was thankful that I had my meds and inhaler with me. I did complain to the maid as well as the front desk, but to no avail. We were not given daily drinking cups or coffee for the inroom coffee maker. The room door had a big gap in it. It was not the best of times [...]. We have just gotten back from Alaska, and with the rooms in Alaska being 10+ , La quintas were 1-. Never again.
