La Costa Resort & Spa San Diego Guest Reviews
I wish I could tell you my 6 year old and I enjoyed our stay. However, our trip was aborted because of Hurricane Irene since our outgoing flight on United/Continental was cancelled and all NY airports were closed. I called the hotel to tell them the night before we were due to travel but they insisted they couldn't cancel my stay since only Cheap Tickets who booked us had to cancel it. I spent hours for 3 days trying to reach Cheap Tickets and was told by one agent that the hotel insisted that if I pushed for a refund that I would still have to pay for the first night although there was no way we could fly ourselves out without a flight or an airport. The reasoning was supposedly because "some other customers managed to arrive". I have no idea what this meant. Who knows where they came from or when. I couldn't reach Cheapt Tickets late at night the night before we traveled and I doubt they would fix it at midnight so our 10: 00 a.m. flight would make it with all flights cancelled and all airports being closed in NY. I hope in the end we get a full refund since we couldn't postpone the trip as my son is due to start school. My rating of "Needs that somethings special" refers not to an actual stay but the need for common sense in treating customers faced with an aborted trip due to no fault of their own. Also, we are still waiting for a refund of the airplane tickets from United/Continental (outgoing) and American (incoming) which we would told would take 45 days IF the airlines agreed to issue a refund to us.
