Kona Kai Resort Spa & Marina San Diego Guest Reviews
Hotel was nice, staff was awesome but the room seemed a little cramped. 2 queen beds in a room that was made for maybe 1 king. view was outstanding, but they spring a $15.00 a day parking fee at check out which caught us off guard and we had some sort of winged ant or something under my sons covers and in the drawer.

Had my fiance in town and needed to get away for the night. Wanted something near the bay but did not want to spend a ton of money. The Kona Kai was both. The room was clean and decorated with the Hawaiian Islands feel. The only thing I wish they had done differently was upgrade their TV's...come on guys those old *bleep* tubes are done!!!

Our stay was fabulous. Spent the Fourth of July enjoying the marina and the resort. We did it all-swimming in the saline pool, playing volleyball on the private beach, bocce on the lawn and even fishing from the marina dock. After BBQing on the boat we headed across the street from the resort (less than 500 feet away) to watch 6 different fireworks displays. What a great time. The rest of our family stayed at the resort as well...from Grandpa to granddaughter there was something for everyone. We even were treated to a complimentary shuttle service to and from a local Shelter Island restaurant. Way to go Kona Kai- we will see you next year!

Hotel has a nice exterior however the rooms are old and smelly. Our room smelled like something was dead in it. The beds were rumpled when we came in as if they were poorly made. The phone didn't work and the kids could not order a movie on the pay per view since that was broken too. No gift shop for sundries, no cafe for a light snack. Overall, choose some other place.

was lots to do and see, great time, good hotel, good service but for the price why would toast and juice cost extra with the free breakfast? When we got ready to check out and the bill was finalized, I was charged $15.00 a day for the parking in thier parking lot, that was an extra $60.00 I had to pay that I wasn'ttold of till time to leave, could have bought several extra toast and juices with our free breakfast. Any other places I have stayed I never paid for parking. I have entered paid parking areas, but with the stamped by the hotel each day it was free to the guest. I would recommend to friend, but would tell of the hidden charges
