Set in a beautiful garden in the centre of town, this fabulous property is just 5 minutes drive from the Pacific Highway and about 200 metres from the waters of Port Stephens at the mouth of the Karuah River, making it the ideal place to base yourself for that relaxing fishing holiday. Just a leisurely stroll from the inn will take you to a fine selection of shops, restaurants, the Rsl Club with its bowling green, chemist and sporting facilities such as tennis and basket ball courts and bmx track.

Just got back from a trip to Port Stephens with my husband & 2 young chilldren and very disgusted in the way the owners of this motel treated us. I book a Queen room thru the internet and was rudely told off by the owners that this room was for people 18+ only. My bad I made a mistake but if I knew at that time I would of booked a family room. The owner was yelling & saying nasty words, accusing of us of lying & went on & on about the kids dirtying the rooms. The ask us to pay $11 for each child & I refused to pay for my infant son as we brought our own travel cot. The owner even threatened to call the police. We did not use extra towels or linen and it was only fair that we paid for my 2 year old daughter who shared our bed. What happen to good customer service???.....Would I reckon this place to people? "NO" Would I come back? "NO"

Clean and kept well maintained at a very reasonable price.

Basic, and small, but very clean and everything you need. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The Nelson's Bay area is very touristy and expensive so it's nice to visit there and then escape to the quietness of Karuah. It's a great location if you want to explore both sides of the bay since Karua is located halfway between the north and south sides of the bay.

We found the service and accommodation to be excellent. Off the highway, quiet and conveniently located to all the services you might require as a traveller.
