Kampung Tok Senik Resort Langkawi

If you are looking for seclusion and the sound of birds and night insects this is it...the atmosphere was lovely and relaxing. We didn't have neighbours so it was very peaceful. I would HIGHLY recommend the SPA. The treatments were very well priced and the service was top notch. The papaya/coconut body scrub was heaven.

The family suite blew away any expectations that we had. It was more like a house than a hotel room. The staff was more than courteous and I can honestly say we made some good friends after just one night. The setting of the hotel is amazing, with a great view of the rice fields below backing up to a mountain side. Although the hotel is far from the beach, the pool is so cool that it doesn''t really matter. The only complaint is that the traditional styling of the house doesn''t really keep the ants out. But when the grounds of the hotel, the location, and its staff were this pleasing, it really doesn''t matter.

Tok Senik is a very special traditional Malaysian Hotel and the staff is helpful. I suggest them to add one more air-conditioner in the living room (for executive suite) as it's very hot in daytime.

Besides, it's quite disappointing that the convenience store is not opened 24 hrs although the internet and brochure mentioned that it should be opened for 24 hrs.

Very beautiful and peaceful.I was on my honeymoon and this was a perfect place. The area is full of lovely village houses of all shapes and sizes and surrounded by beautiful greeneries which is a breathtaking view! The resort has its own local restaurant which serves delicious delicacies ranging from local to western food at affordable prices!Even the room service doesn't cost a bomb. The swimming pool is just next to the bistro which is really happening!

I don't have enough good things to say about this place. All I can say is don't stay anywhere else on Langkawi! The staff is absolutely beyond accommodating! The food is cheap and delicious! The "Fun Pub" band is excellent! The on-site masseuse is fabulous! And most of all, the rooms(traditional Malay bungalows) are huge and spacious with TV/VCR/CD player. Everything you need is here.

The rooms are HUGE! Although it is not situated near beaches like other hotels, this resort is beautifully done up in the kampong style with air-con of course! The staff are extremely friendly and get you the things you want as soon as we requested. We definitely recommend going in a big group.

After staying a few days at a beach resort, this was a really nice change. The resort is beautifully landscaped, and the Malay village style architecture is simple, yet charming. The staff are warm and courteous. And the restaurant or warong, served very good Malay food (food in the bistro however can be improved).

The toilet in the room can be improve though, we had such a small toilet, our feet have to rest on the shower area every time we need to use the toilet.

I would recommend a stay in this resort if you have a few days to spend in Langkawi and you do not want to spend all your time at the beach.

I personally think it is a nice place to consider when visiting Langkawi, especially for those who wants to have the feel of a real Malay kampung living. The facilities are great except you could hardly watch tv, the signal there is really bad. So if you want to consider a quite and peaceful stay, then Kampung Tok Senik would be a good choice.

Very beautiful place with accommodation in chalets surrounded by paddy fields. We only stayed for one night, which was really too short. The Malay food restaurant (also the place for breakfast) is very nice too.

As the hotel is not on the beach and shows another aspect of Langkawi, I would recommend to spend a few nights in a resort on the beach and a few nights in Kampung Tok Senik Resort. Of course, it is more convenient there if you rent a car.

This is village-living Malay style. The room we stayed in had an eight-inch diameter shower head. It was like showering under a warm waterfall! The room was very rustic - wood panels and no glass. We had to keep the shutters closed otherwise the mosquitoes would come in (and there are a lot apparently). This made the room dark. Also, there were ants everywhere. Don''t leave any food out. Otherwise, the place is very nice - good value.

Kapung Tok Senik will not appeal to all visitors. Unlike almost all other resorts in Langkawi, it does not have a beach front, but it makes up for this witha unique atmosphere. You will feel as though you are alone during much of the day, but for us this privacy was ideal.

Nice hotel in local malaysian style, situated beautifully and peacefully within green landscape, a bit out of the way, a bit too far away from city and beach, a bit too peaceful (nearly no guests), comfortable accomodation, friendly staff, acceptable breakfast (though not excellent); recommended for people looking for tranquility.

The rooms here are fine and clean but the resort is literally in the centre of Langkawi (which we knew but couldn''t book anywhere else) and it is absolutely essential to have a car or a scooter to get around. The restaurant facilities were terrible at best but the resort has a nice pool and spa facilities. On the plus side is that we thought the resort was incredibly cheap so what can you expect for this type of money. They did have another restaurant and a shop which was closed for renovating but I would put my money on it that the same reason would be given in 12 months time. I would liken this resort to a Chalet type holiday. If you like that sort of thing then this is ideal for you, but if you want any entertainment or things to do then forget about this place. We used the resort simply as a base and spent as little time as we could here. Some staff were great, others weren''t!

We liked this resort very much because of its quiteness. It was a pity that there were so less guests because of the disaster. Despite that, the people were so kind and helpful to us. We have had a very nice stay at Tok Senik.

This hotel is conveniently located in the center of the island. Rent a car and travel around the island! It is the best!

Staff were useless. Facilities and accomodation were old and required updating. They are not a four star hotel, and appear to cater more for local tourists.

Positives: Great if you want a very quiet holiday. Hardly any other guests. Good service. Very friendly. The health spa is second to none and reasonably priced. Negatives: Far from everything - ok if you hire a car/motorbike - expensive if you need to keep getting taxis. Also run down. Gives the appearance of having had better days. Phones don''t work, limo is showing wear and tear, fountain in the pool isn''t switched on generally. Fantastic if you want seclusion, if you like a hive of activity then avoid it. We went on our honeymoon and found it wonderful.
