It was all downhill from the beginning. The front desk staff did not give a friendly welcome. Not even a smile. She barely looked at me while she explained the hotel policies, parking, room service... And the hotel room was musty and dank upon first entering. When I asked if I could switch rooms, they responded by saying that they did not have any available. I later went down to the front desk in person and asked to be switched. The man responded that there were no rooms available for two days and that meanwhile they could come neutralize the odor with a device. These things were not offered to me by the first person I spoke to. Additionally, the bed was very lumpy and uncomfortable and the front door of the suite rattled and banged throughout the day because of the wind. Needless to say, I did not sleep well my whole trip. The hotel building looks old overall and needs a paint job and a major makeover. Be aware there is a $25 per day resort fee for self/valet parking, use of gym, Internet access, and local calls from hotel room.

I paid for a room with an ocean view. We were put in a room on the second floor where you could see a tiny piece of the ocean through the flags and trees in the parking lot and between the buildings. When I asked for a better room, we were told that for an additional charge $50 / day we can get a better view. We decided to upgrade and the $50 / day turned into $60 / day. Also there was a $24 / day hotel charge that I wasn't told about up front. I ended up paying much more than I anticipated for an average hotel.

Everyone was so pleasant and helpful. No hidden extra charges. The suite was gorgeous, spacious, and had a really well furnished kitchen so we ate two meals per day there. The waterslide and children's pool were great fun.

The hotel is located in a beach resort area in maui. Rooms are huge and very nice. Pool restaurant left a LOT to be desired. For such a hotel you'd expect they would have good cuisine around. Prepare to have a car to drive for better food alternatives.

Overall we find Ka'anapali Beach Club to be a very pleasant stay. The location is beautiful, pool and grounds are lovely and the room suites are very nice. Room service is mostly very good, although there were a couple of mis-timed room services during our 9-night stay using two rooms. The Ohana Bar and Grill poolside is standard to good, the breakfast buffet is so-so. The concierge service and desk service are excellent. This hotel desperately needs a fine dinner restaurant. This was my third stay and I completely avoided Diamond Resorts International's aggressive timeshare pitches, which are a complete waste of valuable time.

I found the room accomodations to be adequate and comfy but the staff and processes of staying there are inconvenient and annoying. We came across road blocks around every corner with this company! When we asked for butter pats for our meal, they charged us an extra 25 cents per pat of butter! This seems ludicrous to me! They did not replace and provide more coffee filters in our room, we had to buy those too. The housekeeping staff kept walking in on us the last morning we were there prior to our check out time to see if we had left yet. The pool is very cold and the hot tub is extremely small and always seems to be packed so using it was very difficult. We had our wedding reception in the hotel's restaurant but experienced much difficulty there with accomodating the 17 people in our party, wanting to charge us rental fees to eat in their dining room, and the manager told us that though they would serve us there "you won't get the same amount of service because our waiters will be busy with other tables and can't focus only on you and your group." He was argumentative and rude, even telling us at one point that we could take our business elsewhere and "that was fine" by him. The halls are grouted tile so you wake up very early (5:00am) to the sound of carts being wheeled down the halls, clanging and banging. Our "ocean view room" was partially right....it looked directly onto the backside of it's neighboring property and if you looked to the left, you could see some ocean. The worst part is the sales pitch from the timeshare staff. Brutal. So glad we got out after an hour and a half!

nice staff, nice hotel, but the check-in experience is so high pressure it is hard to recover from. The "concierge" is a sales agent and offers to help you get settled in and then pressures you to participate in a time-share tour, in exchange for some free meals. This is fine but it's all very tricky, and for a tired traveler to all the sudden have to stand up to the high pressure sales pitch is really a drag. otherwise the place is great. Nice beach, great staff, very nice room. We were also very disappointed that even though we booked an ocean view, we could barely see the ocean. We were informed you have to book a "deluxe ocean view" in order to really see the ocean. Some tricky sales stuff going on here, that taints and otherwise very nice resort and staff. I think it'd be better to go to the Hyatt or Ka'lapani shores hotel and skip the sales pressure. The prices is about the same.

We had a huge suite that had a great view. Flat screens, huge bathroom, kitchen with everything we needed, and spotlessly cleaned everyday. Waterfalls, pools, and spas everywhere. Tiki torches set the atmosphere and captured the aloha spirit. Great hotel at a great price.

It is a nice TimeShare. Beach is not that nice, if you want to stay around kaanapali beach, I would recommend staying at Sheraton hotel at kaanapali near blackrock which is near whaler village.

We had a great time at this hotel. It was our second time staying here. Furniture inside the room needs to be updated (heard it will be replaced in another 2 years.) More activities at the hotel would be ideal. My son loved the slide and pool. Love that they give you plenty of rooms towels. Beach towels were a bit of a hassel with the towel cards. Parking $16 per day :(

This is a resort, with a wide open lobby, waterfalls, and a large pool. Our room was clean. We took advantage of the kitchenette, fully furnished. We booked an "ocean view" room and received a partial view from the ninth floor. As others have mentioned, we received our "free gifts" and the condo sales pitch from one of their staff. The staff member asked us what we wanted to do while we were there, then attempted to set us up with the companies they work with for an outrageously inflated price or we could listen to their 90 minute sales pitch on buying a condo and receive their discount, "if you don't listen to our condo introduction you would pay the normal price of $600 for the activities (ziplining and snorkeling, for two people) you want to do or you could pay $374 for the both of you if you listen to our introduction". We had done our research prior to traveling and already new who to call ... we didn't listen to the introduction and still paid $374 by booking our activities with other guides. KBC is worth the money the first time to Maui, but not after that. There are better hotels for the same money and not condo introduction. Happy travels.

We went with a senior and two toddlers. The hotel was awesome. We were in a deluxe ocean front room. I am sure there is no better view in Maui. The hotel amenities were great. The daily made service was a plus. Pool and slide were very nice. We would definitely visit again. The only negative thing is if you buy any activity via the hotel concierge who claim not to work for the hotel. You are better off buying your activities via an third party broker. We bought the Royal Lahaina luau , which we ha gone to before, and paid full price. We called a broker and we could have saved over 150$ for the group. My wife called to complain but all they could do is credit my credit card $50 for the inconvenience. Don't buy anything from them. Call around, it's your best bet. Another downer was that the breakfast buffet was not included. At $15 a pop breakfast got expensive fast. I heard it was once included. That would make a stay here the only place I would stay in Maui.

We stayed for 9 nights. The room was nice, but the carpet in the bedroom smelled like urine. When we notified housekeeping, they send someone up right away and steamcleaned it. It smelled better, but the smell wasn't totally gone. I am sure we could have changed rooms, but we were too busy. Besides that, the room was great, the view was good, the staff was super friendly, the location is the best! We walked right out to the beach. I would stay there again. The hotel is super family oriented. A game room, mini golf, pool, waterfalls, places to eat. The prices for kids games are very cheap. Just a couple bucks. Some stuff is free for kids. The food prices were average for the area. The parking is 16.00 a day, so be ready for that.

The hotel is always great we try to stay every year . Been to Westin ,marriott ,and the outrigger . Your hotel is by far a better total package for the money .All your employees remember us every time we show up. The ones that stand out the most are the guys working in the beach cafe by the pool To name a few [...]and most of all [...]these gentlemen really make you feel special . What did we do while maui zip line ,parasailing ,kayaking ,sightseeing and a lot of swimming .
