We stayed in a newly renovated room that was just lovely. CLEAN and maid service was good. Excellent location! Walking distance to Grand Central Station will then get you anywhere you want to go in NYC. Staff was very professional. We had a problem wtih the volume on the TV and told the front desk. Someone arrived in FIVE minutes and fixed it.

The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was clean and the bed was good, but the carpet and curtains were pretty "tired". We were on the 12th floor and had lots of street noise (sirens, horns, trucks) but I guess that's just NYC.

Took a while for the concierge to get to me since there was only one at the time and he was handling somebody else. Room was small but we only stayed one night and it was just me and my significant other. Cleanliness was excellent and the location...couldn't get any better. TV could use a little updating if you just wanna relax because it's not flat screen and that TV was going. Definitively would like to return!

Great location, clean quiet rooms but really needs a face lift. Would recommend this only if trying to save money and everything else in the area is much more expensive...

It's just a room to sleep and shower. Very small and a little farther uptown-west. If you stay M-Wednesday its ok for $225/night. Otherwise - no. Lot's of Italian's stay here as well, nice espresso shop next door.

This hotel has good location. It's just close to 5th avenue and the Empire state building. And it is easy to take bus but needs to walk several streets to get subway station. The only advice is that the TV in the room is too old.

The room was small but nice. just didn't have that clean, santized feel. Bathroom was updated. (Didnt like that there wasn't a door on the shower either-1/4 piece of glass, doesnt count ) Great location, just a few blocks from all the action-- times square, empire state building, rockafeller. The staff was very nice as well. I would consider staying here again.

The Jolly Madison Tower Hotel made our weekend one of the best trips to NYC! We drove in from CT on Saturday afternoon, the hotel was easy find and the staff took care of everything, including parking our car, without any fuss or hassel. The room was clean, the bathroom was gorgeous, a little small but perfect for a couple. Your able to get room service for breakfast and access to a mini bar if you so choose. Location is GREAT!!! Not too close but not too far, you can walk to pretty much any of the major sight seeing attractions but not have to deal with neon lights shinning in your windows! The Hotel is on a very safe and quite street. There are a few different resturants close by for a late dinner after a broadway show (however things do close up kind of early). I don't think I will ever come to NYC without staying here. The staff made our weekend stress free and the hotel is a major value! I can't wait to come back again!

The staff at the front desk were very rude - clearly didn't appreciate the business. We requested a king bed and they put us in a room with Twin beds - not ideal for a couple on vacation. And then they said they can get me a different room with a king bed for an additional $50 more per night. I had my travel agent call them and we finally got moved. They were FAR FROM customer service oriented - it was like we imposed on the staff when checking in. The gentleman at the front door was very helpful and gave us directions and smiled and made us feel welcome. And the gentleman at the bar was excellent. Funny thing, when we checked out, another couple was checking in their luggage becasue they too had to change rooms - not sure why they don't put guests in the ideal room in the first place.

Close to the good stuff, sparse room, no ice or coffee maker, but hey, good enough.

If you are booking at the Jolly Madison in New York you may be surprised at the small rooms and their fittings if you ticked the standard category. Better to go for the modern fitouts of the top floors even at extra cost. These are great with big comfortable beds, a huge shower which is not over the bath and lots of room. The breakfast is very good but pricey. Nearby is a wonderful French bistro and an Italian restaurant Lots of NY key areas are nearby - the New York City Library, 42nd street and groovy shops selling ribbons and bows on the edge of the garment district

we enjoyed our stay at the madison towers a couple of points we would like to make are that we were put into a tiny room that was quite clostrophobic and very not at night. we did complain on arrival but were told we could move tommorrow after un packing we didnt want the hastle of moving as we were only staying 4 nights,so we put up with it . the second point we were not allowed to keep on the room on the day of departure, which really inconvienced us as we had a late flight home.

The location of this hotel was fantastic as we were just a stroll from Times Square, Macys and Fifth Avenue. However the staff in the hotel were quiet unhelpful. The room was a little small but the bed was the largest bed i have ever slept in. Fantastic bed. I would definately recommend this hotel to any traveller as the location was fantastic as were the beds

Perhaps a queen size bed would be preferable to the king since the room size was much smaller than I anticipated...The bed took up most of the room space. The TV was small and the movie selection disappointing. The bathroom hawever, suited our needs well. If one is merely using the room to sleep and go, it was acceptable. The staff was most accomodating. The bar is open only until midnight and has a limited selection of liquors. The room was very lovely and conducive to intimate conversation.

The Jolly Madison is in a great location - Grand Central is the local station, Macy's and the Empire State Building just a few blocks away. Bus stop on the corner of the street, and a great place to eat breakfast and dinner on the same block. Some of the reception staff were not as friendly as we would have expected, but overall our stay was great. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and the bar very cosy.
