Jing An Hotel Shanghai Guest Reviews
This is a "locally" run hotel with all that that means in China. The staff were OK but they do lack the degree of customer service and attention that you would normally expect, for example I suffered an attack of gout while visiting the hotel and I was clearly in pain and struggling to get a heavy rolling bag into a taxi, but the bell staff just stood to one side and made no attempt to help? The rooms are large, but pretty spartan, and my first room smelled very musty. I changed rooms because i woke up with 6 insect bites, which I blamed on the bed, but could have been mosquitoes (in late Oct). The rooms are well in need of renovation and come complete with the almost obligatory rock hard bed. I travel to Shanghai frequently and i always like to try out new places, but i am unlikely to revisit this one.

Hotel staff are very nice and friendly. I had problems with the internet and staff are very efficient and eager to help. Spacious room, but decor a bit old, guess it is the traditional Chinese style. Many nice local restaurant around the Jing An area which are nice, and some nice massage shops nearby.
