In Vicenza, the Piazza dei Signori is a beautiful square that is anchored in the centre by a large 19th century statue of the poet Dante. Visitors coming from under the Arco della Costa will be facing the Scaligeri residence from the 13th century. To the left, behind Dante, Loggia del Consiglio is a masterpiece that showcases true Venetian Renaissance style architecture. Here, visitors will find local shops and cafes to grab a bite of real Italian food all while taking in the gorgeous scenery. From piazzas to pizzas, Vicenza is a must-see destination when travelling to Verona in northern Italy.

Getting There
Travelling to northern Italy by train is a great option for visiting and touring major sites. Most towns in this region generally have their own train stations. Major hubs include Genoa, Turin and Milan. The Vicenza Railway Station is part of the Milan-Venice Railway, which has two lines to Schio and Treviso.
By air, the most convenient airports for reaching Vicenza are Treviso Airport, Venice Marco Polo and Verona. If arriving at Marco Polo Airport, there are buses to Mestre where a train can then take you to Vicenza.
Vicenza and the surrounding area is well connected by long-distance bus routes. As for local buses, these are a great way to sightsee and get around the area, especially if you are not in a hurry. For seeing the city centre of Vicenza, walking is always the best option.
- Train – Take the Milan-Venice Railway
- Plane – Arrive at the Treviso Airport, Venice Marco Polo or Verona, then go by bus or train
- Bus – Long-distance bus from most major cities in Italy and local buses for sightseeing; once in Vicenza, just walk
