Getting There

Florence Peretola Airport is just four kilometres from the central district, with shuttle buses ferrying visitors easily back and forth. The attractive Stazione Santa Maria Novella has excellent train connections from all over Italy, and is located in the northwest of the city centre. The SITA buses are convenient and punctual, with stops at all the landmarks, including places such as Battistero di San Giovanni. The same is true for the local services, for which tickets can be purchased from any tobacconist displaying a large “T” outside its premises. Taxis are plentiful and can be flagged down quite easily.
