Capri Island is a beautiful small island located in the Bay of Naples in Italy. The destination boasts amazing coastlines, gorgeous blue waters and breathtaking views of cliffs and sea. With much to see and do, there is no wonder why Capri Island draws tourists from all over. Visitors should not skip the Blue Grotto, a magnificent cave with a narrow opening to the sea that opens and shuts depending on the tides. It was used as a bath in the Roman times, and depending on the tide level, there may be enough space for a small boat to pass through. If you are on a cruise around Capri Island, make sure to tour the Faraglioni, a well-known collection of rock formations. If you are interested in a spot of swimming, Marina Piccola is a smaller, smooth-rock beach that is a little quieter but just as scenic. Be sure to take a hike to Capri Island’s Arco Naturale, a fantastic limestone arch that is 18 metres (59.1 feet) high and spans 12 metres (39.4 feet). For stunning, panoramic views, take the Seggiovia del Monte Solaro chairlift up to the summit of Capri Island’s highest peak, which takes around 15 minutes each way.
