Located on the banks of the river Daugava, looking across the river to the old town of Riga, the Islande Hotel is in the centre of Riga. The hotel is also close to the Vansu Bridge and Kipsala Exhibition Hall.

Very smart hotel with excellent facilities. Clean and comfortable although bathroom drains a bit smelly. Not good location for walking back at night but bus service very good. Recommended overall.

Because we stayed over the new year period, we had to eat out on new years eve as there was a private party going on. I had difficulty booking spa treatments or using spa facilities too.

Too little cupboard space for clothing, insufficient no of clothes hangers, no safety box in the rooms and no "water stop" in the bathroom sink. Front desk personnel very friendly and helpful, but in strong need to improve their English. A more regular shuttle service to downtown would be much appreciated.
