Isabella Hotel & Suites Toronto

This hotel is on the outskirts of the city really. It is close to a GO station but is a fair distance from downtown. Parts of Sherbourne St are a bit doubtful, but not necessarily the parts close to the hotel. The rooms are old and the window was dirty and tiny. The window sill was covered in grit and soot. The cafe downstairs is a bonus. Breakfast arrangements are a bit primitive.

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel; specifically because the location was very convenient, the room was especially quiet and the bed was comfortable. It was indeed a two-star hotel but exceeded my expectations for what I wanted - a good night's sleep in a location near family and the University of Toronto. As a bonus there was a discount grocery store and a Shopper's Drug Mart nearby. The breakfast was satisfactory and you can make coffee in your room. I would definitely stay there again and would ask to stay on the seventh floor.

I missed an important meeting (and dinner) because the Receptionist put me "on the wrong track" sending me to the opposite side of Toronto

I was supposed to meet a friend; she called and told me to take a bus to Woodbine Racecourse/ Casino and that the Receptionist will give me directions I called the Reception and was told that ... he doesn't know.... When leaving the Hotel I asked if he could give me "an idea" which way to go.. the answer was "go to the subway Station, take the train eastwards and then take a bus south... I proceeded accordingly, but after about an hour, taking more than one bus, and asking passers by for directions I ended up in the middle of nowhere at the opposite side of tthe town about 1.5 hour ride to the destination onw
