Croke Park

With a capacity of more than eighty thousand, Croke Park is not just the largest stadium in Dublin, but is the fourth largest stadium found in Europe. Croke Park is home to the Gaelic Athletic Association and is most famous for being the site of the Gaelic Games, as well as the All Ireland Senior Football Championship. Croke Park Top 3

  • Take a tour of Croke Park Stadium and visit the GAA Museum, which illustrates the long and rich history of the Gaelic Athletic Association in Dublin.
  • Take a break from all of the sports at Croke Park and grab a beer at the famous Guinness Storehouse, where visitors can see how the magical elixir is made and try a few samples as well.
  • Hear well-crafted folklore tales while enjoying great food at The Brazen Head, which is not only Dublin’s oldest pub, but has long been a meeting place for the city’s best storytellers.

Getting There

Since Croke Park is only about a kilometre from the centre of Dublin, it can easily be reached by public transport, such as buses, walking or by catching a taxi. Many people choose to use the Dublin Bike Stations, which are ubiquitous near Croke Park and allow travellers to hire a bike for short periods of time to get around the city. There are plenty of pedestrian routes in the area, so people should not be afraid to get out and explore this section of Dublin on foot, but be sure to bring an umbrella.
