Donegal has cool, damp summers and mild, wet winters. Winter highs are between 39°F and 43°F (4°C and 6°C); summer highs are 57°F to 61°F (14°F to 16°F). Average annual rainfall is 60 inches (1,524 mm), with most occurring during the summer.

Getting There & Around

The best way to reach Donegal by air is through the Dublin Airport. From the airport, there are numerous forms of transportation such as bus or hired car. There are many bus routes, including the 30 Donegal/Dublin, as well as the McGeehan Coach buses that are quick and convenient.

While in town, visitors can walk, cycle or ride the many town and regional buses that pass through Donegal to neighbouring towns and cities.
