Carlow Climate
Whilst County Carlow bears the moniker, “The Sunny South East”, you would be wise to pack for rain as the weather can change quickly from one hour to the next. This area is the warmest in Ireland, but it is far from tropical. The summer highs are around 20°C, whilst winter lows can drop to 7°C.
Getting There & Around
Dublin Airport is a little over 80 km from Carlow. There are express coach buses run by JJ Kavanagh and Bus Éireann from Dublin and other major Irish cities as well. Carlow is also an hour away from the Rosslare sea port.
Since Carlow is the county seat, there is plenty of public transportation that includes taxis and buses. If you prefer to drive, the city is easy to navigate and parking is plentiful. You pay parking fees by purchasing tickets from roadside vending machines.
