Great hotel in central location, but some rooms a little small. Don't miss the Top of the Mark jazz bar on top floor with views over the bay and out to Pacific Ocean.

Great, old style hotel on Nob Hill good rooms and great service from all the staff. A must is to have a drink and what the sunset at the Top of the Mark on the 19th floor. If you are not familiar with SFO ....lots of steep hills to walk around in that area

I surprised my parents for their Wedding Anniversary here - it was so perfect. They were surprised, the staff was amazing and went along with everything - all arrangements and were so flexible. I will definitely book here again!

The Mark Hopkins is a top-notch hotel. We stayed in the standard room, but it was comfortable and quiet. Being on Nob Hill is great -- close to everything, easy to get cabs, public transportation or walk to our destinations. The only sour point -- WiFi service is pricey and charged per device, while at the same time being very poor. The staff was kind enough to remove one charge when I complained, but if you charge for WiFi, it should work.

Beautiful old world Lobby. It is Christmas Season and the hotel was decorated nicely with a big ginger bread house and Christmas tree.. The hot cider and cookies in the afternoon, hit the spot! Free coffee in the lobby in the morning. The room was comfortable and in good condition. The Top of the Mark offers a spectacular view of the city and great live music. ( free cover charge for guests) Beware there is a bit of an steep uphill walk from Union Square. The only fault was the low water pressure in the shower and lavatory.

We had a nice experience, but thought it was too expensive for what we received. The room was small, no chest of drawers for our clothes. Although the beds were the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in (at a hotel).

Very nice. Staff was very attentive, especially at the Top of the Mark. Couldn't be nicer or wanting to please the customer. For room price, was pretty standard. Could use a small couch or another comfy chair. Bed was out of this world. Very comfortable!!!

I'm a San Franciscan but had never stayed at the Mark Hopkins. My daughter and I had a wonderful time. The room was just perfect...beds were wonderful and comfortable and all the extras were so very nice. We went to the Top of the Mark for a wine tasting and cocktails and canapies. And, of course Nob Hill is close to so many fun places to visit, dine...taxies always availble and the cable car just outside the entrance. Very Nice

The feather top king size bed provided the most wonderful sleep a person could have. The room was beautiful and spacious. The concierge was pleasant and tried to be helpful, but could not provide anything beyond what you can get easily on your own on line. Top of the Mark has great views, but it is outragiously expensive. Room service, on site parking, and and all other amenities were much too costly. This was all offset by being in the center of it all, 3 cable car lines stop outside the hotel. Muni bus stops within a block, Chinatown and Union Square are only a few blocks away.

Stayed for only one nite, and it had everything: best room, the Top of the Mark was breathtaking and served excellent appetizers...AND there was LIVE music & dancing - not to mention the VIEWS! And just a hop skip and a jump (on the trolley or cab) to the best restaurant in town - our favorite, "tadich grill".

All staff were welcoming and friendly. Great view from our room. Very clean and happy to meet with requests. Best views of San Francisco from Top of the Mark lounge. Good location at the top of Nob Hill (very steep walk to get there but you can catch the cable car). Would highly recommend and would stay there again.

I found this hotel very comfortable. Staff were all very good. Internet isn't free. Lighting in bathroom could be better, needs a light over the mirror. Water pressure to hand basin very weak. Bottled water is very expensive. Windows can be opened slightly to provide fresh air. Restaurant was closed for renovations.

Lovely hotel in up-market suburb. Being located on Nob Hill it's a bit of a climb up steep hills to walk back to the hotel but the cable cars do run right past the front door. Small room and tiny bathroom but all very comfortable.

Prestigious location on Nob Hill but a very steep climb back up the hill after a long day out can be tiring. Cable cars run out the front of the hotel. No restaurants/ cafes within the surrounding few blocks. Room was small but comfortable.
