Infinity Eden Lodge Greymouth Guest Reviews

We arrived at the Lodge by taxi on the 01/01/12 and all was very quiet. The booking was confirmed. The grounds were untidy and then after further investigation we came to the conclusion the place had been vacated. After trying for 1.5 hrs to contact the owners on listed numbers we finally got on to a message bank which informed us that the owners were on annual leave until later in January. We have not heard from the owners or had a refund which is very disappointing and shows lack of character. RatesToGo are following it up. The Lodge is not as good as described, is totally exposed to high winds and is quite a distance from the centre of town - $20 taxi fare.

It was a bit hard to find. Ultra modern. Robert and Susan made us feel very welcome letting us use their kitchen to prepare our dinner and we had use of free internet. Was expensive but , you get what you pay for. we were also lucky as we had the place to ourselves. Woke to a fully layed out continental breakfast. Robert gave us a great run down on what to see and where to stop on the next leg of our journey.

We felt very welcome here - it was like an exclusive country lodge, not a hotel. The proprietors were very helpful with local knowledge and very friendly. The artworks in the shared lounge were beautiful and interesting artifacts also. I could hve stayed there a week, it was so relaxing and luxurious. Enjoyed the spa under the stars and the sunset was worth a few photos as the sun went down over the ocean.

We had a delightful stay at the Lodge. The only thing that was not as we expected was that our room hadn't been finished being made up when we arrived. There was used soap in the bathroom, no towels and food left over from previous guests. We didn't say anything other than to ask for towels because it really wasn't a problem - it was just inconsistent with an otherwise excellent service experience.

Obviously a few teething problems with a new lodge and needs directions from main highway.
