Pura Ulun Danu Bratan is on the shores of Lake Bratan, in the mountain town of Bedugul. At over 1.5 km above sea level, the beautiful area is fertile, verdant and a severe contrast from Bali’s sandy coastline. The fragrant mountain air that permeates Pura Ulun Danu Bratan provides the holy shrine with a serene, otherworldly vibe. All told, the temple complex is one of the most popular landmarks on the island. Other superb attractions in the vicinity of Bedugul include Bali Botanical Gardens, UNESCO World Heritage Jatiluwih Rice Field Terraces and Munduk Waterfall.

Denpasar, the capital city of Bali, is approximately 50 km south of Pura Ulun Danu Bratan. The temple is also easily accessible from the town of Singaraja.
Pura Ulun Danu Batur is on the edge of Lake Batur, a Mount Batur volcano crater lake.
