Tanjung Benoa is becoming a major cruise ship port of call on the island of Bali. Any visitor will receive an amazing welcome on the shores. Originally a fishing village and dock on the peninsula, it has been turned into a resort centre with lovely hotels and many water sports companies. - Pick up some charms for your house or take spiritual observance at Klenteng Caow Eng Bio, the oldest Chinese temple in Bali.
- Wander over to the fishing village at the northern end of the peninsula and watch the traditional fishing boats side-by-side with more modern vessels.
- Spend time on the beach or the water: rent a personal watercraft, go reef fishing, water ski, or swim in the wonderfully calm waters off of the Tanjung Benoa beach.
Getting There
When you fly into the Ngurah Rai Airport in Denpasar you are only 3 miles from Tanjung Benoa, and if you are staying in the Nusa Dua cluster, you can get to the west gate in only a few steps. Once there, you can take a packaged tour to some of the sights and parks around the town, or hire your own driver/guide on an hourly or daily rate. The people of Benoa are very knowledgeable about their island and happy to help you discover it: many visitors recommend hiring your own driver to show you the area or taking leisurely strolls up and down the coast.
