Trivandrum Hotels

Trivandrum, now known by the name Thiruvananthapuram, is old enough to be referenced in Greek and Roman texts from antiquity, making it an ideal destination for travellers interested in ancient Indian history and culture. The main attractions in the city, which also serves as the capital of Kerala, are monuments, museums, parks and palaces. The centrepiece of Trivandrumis the renowned Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple, around which the city was planned. Inside this astounding temple are huge murals, pillars, sculptures of Vishnu, and Padmatheertham, a landmark pond. Adjacent to this temple is the remaining wall of East Fort, which is gloriously lit at night for amazing photos.
The Napier Museum has excellent exhibits of artefacts, including bronze, wood, and ivory carvings and statues from areas throughout India. The nearby Kerala Museum houses an innovative interactive exhibit, which teaches the history of Kerala from the Stone Age to the present. There are a number of art, science and technology, and children's museums in Trivandrum as well. Kuthiramalika Palace is a very popular historical structure for its ornate windows and unique décor, and it is also the site for Trivandrum’s celebrated Swathi Thirunal Music Festival and numerous other musical concerts throughout the year.
When To Go
