The Panna National Park showcases deep gorges and teak forests and is only about a 30-minute drive from the village. On the Ken River, the Pandava Waterfall is a majestic display of nature that tourists will enjoy viewing. Another waterfall to see is the Ranch, which is situated close to Pandava. After a day of trekking through the outdoors of Khajuraho, spend some time indoors at the Dhubela Museum, where you can take in Shakti cult sculptures, paintings and clothing inside an old fort. When planning a trip to Khajuraho, visitors should plan plenty of time to explore all there is to see while on this exotic Indian vacation.
When To Go
The climate of Khajuraho varies and is quite extreme. Monsoon season starts in July and goes to September. During this time, up to 114 cm (45 in) of rain can fall. Summers are not a good time to visit Khajuraho. Winter is much more preferable and runs from October through March. In March, the popular annual Dance Festival is scheduled and brings visitors from all over the world.

Getting There
To reach Khajuraho by air, visitors fly into the Khajuraho Airport, which is located close to the city. There are many airlines that service the airport and can take visitors from Delhi, Varanasi and Mumbai to Khajuraho.
By train, Khajurahois linked to Jhansi through the Delhi-Chennai/Bangalore line. Train tickets cannot be bought at the train station, but instead they can be purchased at the bus station. There is an express train that runs every day of the week except on Thursdays.
Most taxi rides take about three hours to reach Khajuraho from Jhansi and Satna. There are bus routes that do serve Khajuraho and will take visitors to places like Bandhavgarh, Satna, Harpalpur and other cities. Depending on the destination, travel times can be several hours up to entire days.
