Very friendly and obliging staff. They go the extra mile to fulfil the guests' every whim. Certainly worth a stay.

My wife and i checked into Impiana for 3 nights. Very good location, a well laid out property having its own beach front. If you want to be just outside the busy beach and city area this is the right location just 5 min away. In a place like kho sumai you dont spend much time in the hotel room but it is comforting to return to your room. The service seemed to be a little superficial, warm on the face but not in the execution.

bathrooms need to be updated. lot of mildew in bathroom areas bad paint work. no windows and very poor lighting. sheets and towels not 100% white. poor english by staff. Did not understand basic things. poor reception skills. but friendly. Did not answer reception phone after 11pm at times. No room service after certain time. Had to argue with them to send dessert after main meal as ice cream would melt. Bed had wheels on it and kept sliding. when leaning on bedrest to watch tv. this was a deluxe room to. overall good exterior and common areas of the hotel but rooms not up to deluxe standard.

The amenitities at this hotel were good, however the hotel rooms were mediocre. For $67US which typically goes a long way in Thailand, it wasn''t worth it.

Right next to the hotel on the beach are some great beach restaurants and bars which offer a wonderful varitey of foods from Thai curry and fresh seafood to hamburgers.

I''ve been in Koh Samui three times and if you''re looking for a hotel in the most famous beach of the island, Impiana is your choice. Chaweng Noi is far less crowded and more relaxing than central Chaweng. However, if you are looking for nightlife in 5'' and with 30 B you''re in the middle of it. Three very good and valuable restaurants are few meters from the hotel, right on the beach: the ideal setting for romantic, abundant (and cheap) seafood or thai dinners. Rooms are big enough and as much confortable as you''d expect from a 3* hotel. The only downside of the resort is that even early in the morning almost every sun-bed is occupied (with a towel lying there for hours without anyone showing up).

The room was very small and very dark; basically there was room for the big bed and a closet only. There was hardly any daylight coming in. The room (or air-conditioning) smelt of moist and cigarettes. This despite my request of a non-smoking room. The whole place has seen better days and could do with some cleaning up. The walls had stains and haven’t been painted in a long time. The pool is nice but relatively small. The breakfast was good; there were a lot of flies on the semi open air buffet. The hotel caters for large (European) tour groups. All in all this was good value for money in Thailand.

We have stayed at the Impania three times and have enjoyed it all three times. The food is very good and so was the staff. We have recommended it to our friends with children and they too found it very friendly and value for the money.

I would recommend the Impiana to any decerning holiday maker. It is away from the filth and noise of Chaweng, yet has the same silver sand and palm trees. The friendly staff were always on hand, though never ''pushy''. The small restaurants on the beach were wonderful, especially Baan Ma-Praw.

This hotel was comfortable, but didn''t quite hit the mark. The room I booked was a deluxe, however it was rather poorly equipped and incredibly dark, even with all of the lights on. The facilities were also poor with no watersports and nothing really to do, the pool was very small and there was no real space around it to have sun loungers, most guests seemed to just walk past it on the way to the beach.

The staff could also have been more pro-active, when we wanted to go into Chaweng we were told to stand out on the main road in the direct sun and within 15-20 minutes a taxi would pass by! All in all the hotel was not what I had hoped for, to be honest I think it was more like serviced apartments than what should have been a quality hotel.
